I knew that some of the things that we do on the Internet was a way to spy on us but Google being involved I did not know about. I found this video on You Tube today and was quite surprised. Even though I have Google history so if I need to find a site and forget where it was at, I really didn't know that Google had kept every search I have done since 1996. That's a long time ago.

I don't have anything to hide, but it makes a person think. What have you searched for? The fact that they keep records so long makes me wonder. How about all the stuff we search for that is conspiracy related? What if you ended up in court for, lets say to see if you are competent, and your UFO, and Ghosts (or whatever) are brought to surface and used against you?

What if you have did research on secret societies, or some other nasty organization, and you apply for a job and they use your Google searches against you? What if you want to adopt a baby and they see that you have been visiting an abortion site, or you want to go into politics and they see you have been looking at communist sites?

Are we voluntarily giving up our privacy by being curious? Has the government decided that they are gonna control all our thoughts by spying on what we read? If this is true then there is no longer a point in freedom of speech. I look at all kinds of sites. If I am judged by what I look at I am SOL, but I am not what I read.

I see the point in why they feel they need to keep records, but years worth of postings and e-mails. Did you know that Google keeps all e-mails that you ever send, and that you have ever sent? Is it me or does this seem just a little creepy.

Do you care who reads your e-mails? Do you want to know who is reading your e-mails and posts? This is not a voluntary action on our part, anyone can get to you. So next time you do a Google search remember, Big Brother can find out every where you have been, forever.

Better watch the video cause I think you might be surprized.

I came to the same conclusion years ago myself, I remember there cookie not expiring tell 2037 or some such nonsense. now they changed there cookie policy to 2 years in a attempt to change the worlds way of thinking about them and privacy concerns.

Still a bunch of bullcrap, at anytime your government can suepena your online activity, when they do that its all over. I'm more afraid of ISPs and providers Forced by law to Surveillance all the packets you send from your pc online. They will probably suger coat it with time proven excuses to steal your freedoms like "We need to do this to stop child pornography" or "we need to do this to finally put a end to piracy".

Google i can bypass i don't have to use google however If all the ISPs in my area have there own "Golden Shield" i cannot stop that. I hope there will be ISPs that will not watch you, however if Internet surveillance becomes Global law that is a different story.

Iv been using Scroogle Scraper and PeerGuardian 2 for years they provide a nice false sense of security.

Haha, I was going to post Scroogle myself but you beat me to it! I prefer to use it as well...at least for all the non cute puppy and cute bunny searches.

As for Youtube, I believe they are only turning over the history of people with accounts. At least that's how I understand it.
