Mars lander's next bake test could be its last

www.breitbart.com

Engineers said a short circuit that occurred last month in one of its test ovens designed to shake and bake miniscule soil samples could happen again when the instrument is turned on.

looks like the missions about to come to a halt due to a short cirquit. they were heating soil and looking for the building blocks to support life.

Hi declassified,

They mean well, but it is difficult to design a microwave that doesn't short out! lol! Never mind that the mission has cost billions, you never know when a circuit will go kaput. Especially when it may show that there are microbes in the Mars soil. We will probably have to spend many more billions and what do you bet? The results will be inconclusive!

Organic compounds or even microbes on Mars! It would be so shocking!

Needless to say I'm beginning to have my doubts this is even a mission.

There's NO information. None except for the few lame pictures we've been given. The same snap of the "ice" or white stuff, and the "after" picture to help diagram how there was melting... oooh...

I've used the same microwave (albeit rarely) for 18 years and it never shorted once and it cost me 80 bucks at the time.

One excuse after the next - this mission just feels bogus, unlike the rovers mission which was probably the most exciting thing we've done since the space shuttle first began taking off.

While I believe Mars supports life forms, it is clear tough hurdles to conquer in the area of being provided open information (particularly from a program Americans help fund via tax), faith that people want this information for hope and a better life, community and togetherness. Throw all that crap out the window, there is a plan to make money...and we're not invited. Power.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE? Hell no.

The worst part is the people who know the most information withhold vast secrets because they themselves would like to be known as god for even a day until the effects wear off.
