Has anyone ever given any thought to the greek gods being the nephillim?They were giants compared to man,they also had hybrids (hercules).If you take a look at the greek legends there are comparisons that can be made

your definately in the wrong section of ATS with this one....but I agree with yuo 100%. I've posted this theory in countless posts and have lots of people starting to agree with me including ton sof Christians.

If you look Hindu "scripture" like the muhabharata and other "books" they also talk of ginats fighting humans and some of those ginats were "blue" in skin color.

Same thing with Asin legends, buddhist legends, native american legends, and south american legends. Oh and dot forget to look up the "Dogon Tribe" from I beleive Australia. These guys knew about things in space before anybody else on this planet could prove it and also speak of beings and giants.

You pose a great question. One that deserves a well thought out answer.

Here's Chapter 6 of Genesis:

“And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God
(the “sons of God” plural)
saw the daughters of men, that they were fair;
and they (the sons of God) took them wives of all which they chose.
And the Lord said, ‘My spirit shall not always strive
with man, for that he also is flesh’ “
(this indicates that “the Lord” is also flesh),
“yet his days shall be an hundred and
twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days and also after that; when the sons of God came in to the
daughters of men and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”

Now when you take this passage in the context of Sumerian records, and more ancient forms of the Bible, these giants are specifically referred to as the Nephilim. Thoth also refers to giants on the earth but doesn't refer to what they were called.

However, seeing as how Thoth was the greek god
Hermes, it is unlikely, IMO that the Nephilim were the greek gods, but rather The Titans.

The Titans were the sons of God (as referred to in the Bible passage above) in Greek Mythology. I believe the actual "greek gods" who were not actually gods, but rather ascended masters, came afterwards.

In Greek mythology, the Titans (Greek: Τῑτάν Tītā́n; plural: Τῑτᾶνες Tītânes) were a race of powerful deities that ruled during the legendary Golden Age. Their role as Elder Gods that were overthrown by a present race of younger gods, the Olympians, was a Greek borrowing from the Ancient Near East.[1]

There are twelve Titans[2] from their first literary appearance, in Hesiod, Theogony; Pseudo-Apollodorus, in Bibliotheke, adds a thirteenth Titan Dione, a double of Theia. It's also possible the Nephilim = the Titans, among other ancient beings.

Things get interesting the further you delve into the ancient texts.

You are on the right track. If you get all the world's mythologies, you'll find they link together as pieces of a greater puzzle. However to truly understand what's going on you have to go way way back.

around 125 thousand years ago the "fallen angel", aka (nephillim) among other names and titles, happened. Basicly "alien" type beings that were put in place to help mankind thought it would be better to use mankind as slaves and set themselves up as "gods and kings/queens"

Since then the earth has gone through several cycles of cleansing. However the whole "nephillim" idology keeps returning at the end of the time. People keep pointing fingers at families, or families keep climing power over the world according to their long lost links to the nephillim.

A far better and clearer source to see what happened is the VEDAs, the "hindu sciptures", but those stories are long and unclear.

Oh, and p.s. the mythology's stories have been changed over time, this needs to be taken into account too. Lets look at this world now and 2012. Such "cleansing" events have taken place on regular cycles. If the great majority of people died in 2012, and all or most historic mythological events were distroyed, the "old stories" would get passed down by word of mouth until someone wrote them down again. What would be lost and what would be added and why? These are the questions we must ask ourselves with examining the mythological history.

I think so. undo has written a lot on this subject. Let see, I think it was Hercules who was the the son of a Zeus and a human woman which is just like in Genesis 6 an elohim "god" mates with the daughters of men to have nephilim.

I havn't thought of them being Nephlim, but probably Bnai Elohim or part of the Sabaoth( The Host of Heaven), like the Sarim(Princes)

Nephilim are considered to be hybrids of Bnai Elohim and Humans. They show many of the signs of what is known as Hybrid vigor such as superior strength, size, and sterility in the Book of Enoch. Which brings up a debate about Bnai Elohim who have been made mortal, temutun, and chromosomes. The Nephilim essentially were demigods like Hercules and other Heroes. It even calls them that in Genesis

Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Now who are these Bnai Elohim and the Sabaoth? From what can be gathered biblically these beings meet before the AdatEl, or assmebly of G-d in the book of Job. There appear to be 70 of them and the 70 original nations of humanity seem to of been divided among them based on older translations of the book of Deuteronomy. Considering how the term Son is used in all mesopotamian texts, the Bible included, it may really mean of a type. So Bnai Elohim could mean members of the Elohim. In Psalms 82 the Elohim are threatened by G-d to be punished with mortality and fall like the Sarim(Princes) if they do not judge the nations justly. Significantly He calls them Bnai Elyon, Sons of the Most High. So it could be possible that Bnai Elohim may also be different than Elohim. Either way they are considered powerful forces in the affairs of humanity. In the Christian testament they should be the same as the Stoichea of the Kosmos and the Powers(Exousia). I should mention that Israel/Judah is not among these Seventy nations, G-d has authority over it directly.

The rest of the Sabaoth are simply all of the celestial beings. Its mentioned in Deuteronomy they have been assigned to the Nations and Israel is forbidden to follow or worship them. One that I also mentioned as a candidate of the pantheon was the Sarim or the Princes. These are best described in the book of Daniel where the angel Gabriel struggles against the Sarim of Persia to reach Daniel. The Sar or Prince of Judah, Michael intervenes and helps Gabriel finally reach Daniel.
They are like the Bnai Elohim and seem to have been given authority or stewardship of human nations,but there appear to be more than just 70. They are probably subordinate to the Bnai Elohim, except for Michael who would be subordinate directly to G-d. An interesting thing is mentioned by Gabriel in the text about them, apparently Michael is the only one who cares about humans. In the Christian testament they are the Principalities.

The idea that they are the Titans would most definitely be false. The Titans are like the embodiments of nature and elder gods from the Greek Mythos. There may be biblical analogs, but the Nephilim are not it. If any analog was made it would be the Elohim from Psalm 82.

Excellent post. I concur with most of what you said. The Elohim are Angels or lesser "gods" in the Hebrew. The titans may have been Fallen Angels. I have posted so much on it in the past I was a little lazy this time. Dr Mike Heiser is "the Man" on this subject. He has been on C2C and other shows numerous times. He also has a book called "The Facade" on the UFO phenomenon.
