Why they hate AMERICA

Good thread, it pretty much sums it up. The world has nothing against the American people. How can anyone be against an entire country of 300 million individuals? You are bound to find quite a few that you really like.

Your government though... I cant say anything nice about it so I better not say anything at all.

Yes I know of the Assyrian problem in Iarq. Iraq, not Kurdistan. Seeing as it is not a Kurdish related problem, but rather a problem they face with fundamentalist Islamist all over Iraq.

Because from what I gather it has nothing to do with ethnicity at all, but rather religion.. are not most Assyrians Christian? Which is why your being persecuted.. Kurds acting as Sunni's (they are mostly sunni) with the Sunni and Shia of the South have been persecuting Christians since the fall of Saddam.

Just because they form their own country independent of the Iraqi government does not change bigoted religious beliefs. Surely you have come to realize that.

Our government sucks. We all know that, even those 300 million individuals (maybe not all) .. but our Congress has an approval rating in the teens and bush in the low 30's - 20's ..

I would NOT say "hate Americans" - there are many that I like and few that I do not like, and there is a small bunch of #$$holes that I hate - they are at the top - the head. The head of US stinks - not the whole US

I, for instance, hate stinking heads of my country and few others - ruthless, inhuman .... I can not even call them people - just beings. I am not sure if they are humans at all. How can some one call Bush a human - he has NO human characteristics

While I have some sympathy for the USA -being expectd to be the world police - well no-one likes the police. for me Bush (and Blair) really lost the arguement when they connectd Iraq with Al Quada. Saddam Hussein was a tyrant who did not tolerate any opposition. As such his country would have been free of Al Quada as he would have seen thenm as a thray and killed them.

What makes the situation worse is Mugabe's brutal terror on his people (and democracy) and no-one gives a stuff. America can't take all the bad from this experience. UK government haven't exactly glorified themselves either.

What a great bash bush post. A+ from me. I think the title should have been, Why I hate Bush.

The picture of the frag is my fav. Thrown by someone who lost a family member to the US? I guess the theory that it was thrown by someone that just had a hardon against the US is unthinkable? Or just a bored kid caught up in something he doesn't understand.

I am pretty sure that Iraqis are more happy with Saddam Hussein than Supreme World Ruler of the Universe George W. Bush. It's the truth, the Iraqis gained freedom for sure, but they lost their LIVES.

You are quite right, he did allow weapons inspectors in after a four-year absence and the threat of war. Inspectors found 18 chemical rockets and and missiles that violated the UN cease-fire agreement among other things.

- Hans Blix said Iraq complied, there were no weapons, and no production facilities and more inspections were needed.

Hans Blix addressing the UN Security Council January 27, 2003. Some quotes-

So what? Saddam was required to provide proof that he destroyed the weapons that he admitted having. Why does the 'Bush is evil' crowd always forget to mention this?

You can pretend that Iraq was sitting in the Middle East minding its own business and George Bush made up lies about Iraq's WMD's and you can pretend that there was not 17 UN resolutions addressing Iraq's WMD's, but you are only fooling yourself.

I use the UN as a source because I'm afraid that you would dismiss anything else as Bush propaganda.

It is because of posts like this that I find myself visiting ATS less and less frequently and do not post here regularly, as much as I'd enjoy a good discussion, debate, or even a spirited argument. The poster's premise allows no argument or disagreement - in other words, the arrogance is amazing, and I'm just an idiot who took the wrong colored pill. Except...

I've been paying attention to the situation in the middle east for far longer than the last eight years. I know Bush did not create terrorists. I know that I know that Bush cannot turn anyone into a terrorist. That's just stupid. I know what the terrorists have done, continue to do, and intend to do, and it makes Bush look like a Boy Scout. Those who truly believe that Bush is more of a terrorist than the terrorists are only fooling themselves. And I suspect they know it on some level, thus the cyberbully tactics when challenged. No intelligent, reasonable discussion, much less any respect for a different perspective, and pretty much just because one doesn't think Bush is the cause of every problem facing mankind today.

The calls for Bush's impeachment and/or criminal persecution (yes, persecution, not prosecution) is despicable. I can only hope and pray that whatever punishment is meted out to Bush, every member of Congress who voted for the war to begin with, and/or subsequently voted to fund the war, is punished 10x worse. They are, after all, part of the "checks" and "balances" of our trilateral govt, intended not to let the executive branch (the prez) obtain too much power - and therefore they failed miserably. In fact, up until they decided it would be politically expedient to say otherwise, every top Democrat in Congress was making the same claims about Saddam and his potential threat to the USA.... most notably when Clinton was president. So they are either just as wrong, or just big fat liars also. Let them all fry - including Hillary, Obama, and McCain.

Bush is not omnipotent. Whatever mistakes Bush has made - whether real or imagined - I am eternally grateful that he was willing to do whatever necessary to protect our country and our people. And I will always be appreciative that we live in a nation where even in war, we make every effort to create as little damage (life or property) as possible, and stay to rebuild and heal when the dust has cleared. We have the technology to have completely wiped Iraq off the map, but that's not our way.

My disgust is reserved for my fellow Americans who did everything possible to lose this war, with no regard for the consequences either here or in Iraq. After Saddam fell, when Bush was doing his best to assure the Iraqis that we only wanted to free their country, and that we had no intention of taking over their country, the Democrats were yelling from the rooftops that Bush was an imperialist.... When Bush was doing his best to assure the Iraqis that we'd help them rebuild and wouldn't abandon them, the Democrats were calling for withdrawal.... When the going got tough, and our troops needed our support more than ever, the Democrats were calling them cold blooded killers and worse. When Bush was using secret wiretaps to find and prevent terrorist plots on our homeland, the Democrats were telling the world how we did it...

And in the meantime, has anyone against the war offered a better plan of action? Hell no! They complain that this a just a war for oil, but won't let us produce our own oil. They won't strengthen our borders and keep the bad guys out. They've done nothing to protect us on any other level. Instead, they pretend like there was never and will never be a threat from the terrorists, that Bush is the only threat. Yeah. Right.

You know, there's a thread on another part of the board showing some pictures of the people or Iran and saying, in a nutshell, they're just like us and hating them is not right (with more nuance of course, but you get the picture).

I see a lot of the same people who posted there agreeing with that OP posting here agreeing with this OP. So it's not okay to hate the Iranians, but it's okay for other people to hate Americans?

Double standard anyone?

That being said I of course don't agree with the way things are going currently, but everyone needs to realize that America is not the cause of all the worlds problems. We're intrinsically woven into the global political web and so end up involved in everything. That's not to say we aren't to blame for some things.

Its not a fact bush ignored intellegence agents when they stated he doesnt have wmd's?
Its not a fact that Cheney and co used their positions to influence NO BIDDING CONTRACTS for their corporate buddies?
Its not a fact Iraq is the most dangerous place in the world now, because we ruined it?
Its not a fact majority of Iraqi's wish we never came, and prefer Saddam?
Its not a fact 2/3's of Americans do not follow bush's path?
Its not a fact Osama DENIED 911, and said a few people INSIDE the government did it?



are these not facts that ultimately give the position of being AGAINST the United States Government?


How about you give some FACTS, on why it is we should be thankful we're in Iraq wasting 100's of BILLIONS of dollars, thousands of lives... when we could be spending that on fixing the AMERICAN ECONOMY, INFRASTRUCTURE and allowing the US military to be at home with their families?
