Evening Doc!

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Good points you bring here.

My take on your post is that were being softened up to accept that fact that we are going to become a United North America and the amero will be the currency.

I'm still wondering if I want to buy into that one.

There is soooooo much wrong right now, but I think we as the voters can set it right again. We just have to get involved!! We have to stop the partisan bulls**t and get some real change.
These are some things that would help:
-remove special intrest money (corporate money) from our political process, and give the government back to the people

-stop media consolidation to give a voice back to the people

-start to rebuild our failing infrastructure by having some wsort of "new new deal" to get the country back to work again

-allow the SEC to do its job to regulate corruption and overzealous traders on the commodities market

-roll back tax cuts for those who make over $250,000 a year in order to rebuild our treasury

-phased redeployment of our military to get them out of Iraq where we are hemmoraging money like a drunk in a topless bar

-change our trade agreements to make real "fair trade," not this corporate giveaway that we have right now (punish companies for moving their production overseas)

-abide by our treaties that we have with other countries (no torture, reinstate habeas corpus, etc...)

-Force the politicians to execute the will of the people, not the Corporations(vote the bastards out of office)(can I say bastards on ATS?)

These are all achievable goals. We don't need to be depressed or furious, we just need to think clearly and rationally, and somehow get the word out to the people that these things can be done. The MSM won't give anyone airtime that wants to discuss this though. They have their own special intrests that need to be removed. Remember back in the day when we had the "fairness doctrine?" Maybe we need to go back to that: equal time for all viewpoints.
great thread!!!flag and star

Good evening PJS

Thanks for reading and commenting.
I agree that there is soooo much wrong here that It seems almost impossible to fathom it all, much lees fix it.
You bring up some really good points and ideas.

I like that tax cut idea, but have my doubts on sucess. The wealthy and their tax lawyers and the corrupt system that lets them do this is solid. I can't imagine what it would take to rebuild the tax system. Also, can you imagine the amount of time that would consume?
Unless the President says "I want this done now!", well, I see alot of foot dragging on this issue.

About the soldiers abroad, I hear ya. I have no clue why we are still there. Frankly there have been a lot of theories, with the Iran thing and now North Korea. Who knows? But the war over there costs us about $5000.00 a minute.

The fair trade issue is such a mess. Cheap overseas labor and the trade imbalance just plain sucks!!
Just saying to China, for instance, that we'll buy from you EXACTLY (In monetary terms) what you buy from us, wont work. There are too many trade agreement already in place ensuring that Big Biz gets there way. Many of there agreements are locked for years at a time.

I have know idea what's going to happen in the coming weeks and months, but one thing is certain. Changes will be made, but who will they benefit?

I am proud of my country and more of us need to take a stand. I am not self destructive in my own life and I hate to stand around and see destructive people try to tear this country down. I understand they have that right because of this country so instead of trying to hush them I am going to try and get my voice heard..

Theres a spiritual aspect to all this. And the reason its so bad is because of the lack of consciousness of the masses. Our collective mind = what we see on the outside.

If we dont fix it, we will be like africa.

Its global too. Almost all countries are getting choked for making ends meet, except for the fewer and fewer elites on top.

Sorry but we are too stupid to change things beforehand. We need to suffer extremely to awake us from our slumber.

Then people will be honest as the real problem. And that is lack of visibility and greed. So we need to stop this secretive nonsense so corrupt greedy people cant destroy the world behind our backs.

The illusion is that we cant stop corruption in the govts. The problem is the corrupt people are telling us that and wont let it happen. We need honest people to get together a group of geniouses and make it fool proof.

All govt and corporate transactions must be seen online. And thats that.

Chow friends, and yeah, I’ll try to stop being such a pessimist.

I guess that you mislabeled yourself given the rather realistic appraisal of yours.

Call it a survival instinct rather than wisdom, but the foundation of the European Union may be the harbinger of things to come. The situation doesn't really look good. You can hang Saddam Hussein for threatening to temper with the ability of the US Government to borrow money, but you can't shoot every foreign investor who regards US Treasury Bills as a poor investment. It's not happening yet, but it may, and if it does, then that would be a catastrophe.
