An attack on the Gaza Strip by the Isreali army has left 14 dead, including Hani Abu Skhaila, a senior activist of the Hamas faction, a policeman and
an eight year old child, according to Palestinians. The attack comes a day after a failed Palestinian attack at the Erez crossing point from Gaza into
Israel.

Israel has described the raids into the al-Bureij and Nusseirat refugee camps as a "pinpoint" operation against the terrorist infrastructure in
Gaza. However many see these attacks as an attempt at weakening the Palestinian militants before the planned Isreali withdrawl from the area.
"At a time when they're speaking about withdrawing from Gaza, they're destroying Gaza, " Saeb Erekat, Palestinian Cabinet minister said.
Palestinian doctors said more than 50 people had been wounded, including several children. There have been no reported Isreali caualties.
