Video from CNN

I'm amazed that all of a sudden these monsters are popping up dead more often. I'd be interested to see how big the really big ones get

Though it is known from only a few specimens, current estimates put its maximum size at 12–14 metres (39–46 feet) long, based on analysis of smaller and immature specimens, making it the largest known invertebrate.

It's not really more often. There may be more being documented, but they wash up all over the world.

These things are pretty cool animals, no?

As far as the upward end of length is concerned, there is circumstantial evidence for squids as long as 200 feet.
