Very weird and interesting.

I put this in this forum because of the implications for salmonella infections ... and because I wasn't sure where else it would go ...

The Northern Territory president of the Australian Medical Association says he may have accidentally discovered how the potentially deadly salmonella bacteria gets inside chicken eggs.

Full story here

And the really weird bit is this:

The egg has been traced back to farms in either northern New South Wales or southern Queensland, but the gecko is of Asian origin and not found in that region.

A secret animal courier service or a ingenious smuggling method???

Thought this was breaking news ... but it has been discussed here:

Still no ideas on how it happened:

I just have a burning question about this which is driving me nuts:

Which came first, the gecko or the egg?

How bizarre!! How did a gecko get in there?? Can a gecko and a chicken breed? Weird!

Naturally there is no way the two can breed but sounds like human intervention since the bird did descend by reptiles by theory.I think someone was messing around with mother nature.Just my take.

One of the theories is that the gecko crawled up the chickens bum and then got stuck during the egg making process ...

So, answer to your question System is:

They both came together ...

Lol, I remeber this, made the front page up here. This is another reason why people should not treat the NT news as a credible source. Apparently most of us up here think that the guy that found it faked the whole story

Still a change from the croc stories

I'll tell ya, that would make one hell of an omelette.
What a shock at lunchtime that would be.
