The same was said for John Kerry.
Does this just apply to ALL democrats running for President in the near future?

It does appear that the extreme left-leaning candidates have gotten the most support/money from the democratic partisans in the last couple of
elections. In recent history (which for most people doesn't go beyond Carter), the presidential candidates from the democratic party have been very
liberal. The last 3 candidates have stretched the envelope a bit.
My biggest concern over Obama is his domestic social policy and his global defense policy. It's nearly impossible to nail down what he actually has
planned, but he certainly seems to favor expanded government and higher taxes for working people and more entitlements for everyone else. Given his
support from the extreme left, that is a popular stance to have. If elected, he'll bask in the praise from the liberal/socialist/communist (take
your pick) while he creates a welfare state where all of the incentive to work hard is removed.
