Ralph Nader Plays Race Card Saying Obama "Talks White"

So, how does "white" sound?

It's about time for Ralph Nader to start making noise as we approach the election. And he knows his only hope of getting any votes is to attack the Democratic candidate in hopes of stealing some votes. So, what angle does he decide on? Does he go for the issues? No! He plays the race card!

Speaking with Colorado's Rocky Mountain News, Nader accused Obama of attempting to "talk white" and appealing to "white guilt" in his quest to win the White House.

He did? I didn't even know about that. It's amazing how people's real views just come up and sputter out now and then, eh?

Poor Ralph, though. He's tried and tried again. I guess he's feeling a little desperate. I would have had a lot more respect if he'd gone after the issues, though. I kind of lost all respect for him.

Sorry, but I truly believe he's playing to the masses. He knows if he doesn't get the white vote he'll lose the election. 13% of the population of this country (black) will not get him in the White House. This is a fact. Personally, I would never vote someone who speaks in ebonics into the White House. Never. If he started talking like Kanye or P. Diddy he'd end up turning lots of folks off. And I think it's a safe bet that Obama saves the ebonics for when he's around his friends, and watches very well what he says and how he says it in front of the microphone. I think the man's a phony. If you thought Bush was bad, my feelings are we're going to see an even bigger liar when Obama walks in.

I really think he's gonna win (much to my dismay). Our country has become that dumbed down now. I can't wait to see how America reacts when their first black President starts pulling the race card everytime he's criticized. And his critics will be called racists. Think the country's screwed up now? You guys haven't seen anything yet. Change? Yeah, but definitely for the worse.

What we see here is a case of progressive-racism. There is a mentality among certain progressives that blacks must behave and talk a certain way. They believe blacks should take a submissive role to them, not a role of leadership. This is because, in part, their political fortunes ride it; they need (and because of this on some level desire) blacks to remain partial-second-class citizens. In a political sense, they still see blacks as slaves; they would rather see blacks indebted to and "requiring" the help of compassionate progressives. When a black man leaves the political-plantation the progressive have constructed, these same progressives feel it as a supreme threat. It does not matter if he is a Barack Obama or a Clarence Thomas, to them the threat is the same. To them, it is an act of high treason for a black man to think "conservative" or to usurp the political aspirations of a white politician who has done so much to "help" blacks. These people feel so threatened and betrayed they forget their progressive pretenses and let the racism flow.

Why is he a phony for doing this? This is something that everyone does, be they white, black, asian or hispanic. Depending on the company we are with at the time, we speak in different ways. The language, tone, even my choice of words are different depending if I am conducting business or sitting with my friends at a bar.

And if he was "talking like" P. Diddy, would it really be such a bad thing, considering how P. Diddy is a smart, saavy, and successful businessman?

Why does Ralph even run as independent? He's been suckling at the Republican teat for nearly 20 years now, they've footed the bill for his last three campaigns, and he has nothing to offer America that we haven't already heard out of Ari Fleischer or someone.

Ol' Ralphie can just go shoot his eye out.

Tonight here in the Election Center: a highly controversial warning directly from Barack Obama's lips.

"We know what kind of campaign they're going to run. They're going to try to make you afraid. They're going to try to make you afraid of me. They're going to say you know what, "He's young and inexperienced and he's got a funny name. Did I mention he's black?"

Funny how everyone is using the race card but Republicans. Hussein Obama is going to have a hard time getting those "racist Hillary voters" to switch. That is what is going to kill his election chances.

That is because they know they can get away from it. After all, they "care" about the plight of blacks in the country. They know they will be given a pass in the media, a pass they would not give Republicans.

Ralph Nader's legacy should rest in his Public Interest Research Groups and as a leader in grass roots fights against corporate greed. The phrase "white guilt" is a verbal legacy which needs to be retired, and I was surprised that Ralph would use it. Of course, great people can say things, which, in the day and age we hear them, sound silly.

As for recent talk about skin color, I offer that great Republican, Grover Norquist, with his "John Kerry with a tan".

Sigh...I guess America is still working through its legacy of racism.
