What the ...? DMV Offers 10,000 Replacement License Plates

www.foxnews.com

The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Tuesday the state Division of Motor Vehicles has notified nearly 10,000 holders of license plates with the letter combination. Officials learned last year the common acronym stands for a vulgar phrase in e-mail and cell phone text messages.

But this week, the DMV officials got another surprise when they learned the same letters appeared on the agency's own Web site on a sample personalized plate.

Wow, three little letters that don't even spell a true word in any dictionary. The only reason why these three letters have any meaning behind it is because of the person reading it who puts the meaning there. Just like all racist names and derrogatory terms, but three letters? Come on, this has me asking WTF is wrong with us?

Hilarious!

I totally agree with what you said about it being the person reading being the one who actuallly puts the meaning. It's not like a term is offensive by default. Our own perceptions are responsible for any percieved insult. People are so conditioned to take offense at the slightest things these days. It's bordering on completely ridiculous anymore.

For some reason 'WTF' reminded me of this old classic clip:

End of Ze World
*profanity warning for any of you who take offense far too easily...

Edit: replace YT player with link

Could it be the DMV is so out of touch with America they didn't recognize the connotation BEFORE issuing the plates?

Pretty scary thought, isn't it?

On a lighter note, how much will those plates bring on eBay?

## - ## - FU

FU - ## - ##

## - FU - ##

All these are possible combinations here. 69 - FU - 69 would be my favorite plate to own.

We're probably not going ot recall anytime soon.

Hf is also possible. And synchronicity has showed me XD a lot recently

It's another stupidly PC move.

I'd be quite happy driving around with a plate that had WTF in it!
