I do not like to see these 2 hosts pitted against each other, which seems to be the spirit of this thread. They are both completely different in
demeanor, personality and attitude. They are each rather unique, and what they share in common is mainly professionalism.
C2C probably would never have survived when Art left, if it was not for George, and Art picked him as his replacement personally. George took the
show to a new level and boosted it's ratings and added many radio stations to it's syndicated subscriptions, as well as fostering the streaming of
the shows over the internet and the creation of a fairly decent web site.
C2C is definitively Arts invention and nourished it to a business that could survive him, given the right level of notoriety and subject matter
consistency. He was an early founder and adopter of alternative radio talk show format and it took over his life so much, he just had to get away from
it for a while. Even then, he dabbled into it when George was taking vacation, because people just plain missed him and enjoyed his way of
interviewing and discussing his favorite subjects.
There are plenty of fans of each to keep them both in the game today. Some will favor one over the other, but I will bet that most will listen to
both, and enjoy the contrasting ways that they handle their guests and wax about all of the outlandish subjects that keep them both so interesting.
So I say give them both the credit they deserve, and support them. I do not see them really in competition with each other, and there are certainly
enough guests and material to go around that will only make it better for the listener, as we will get the benefit of more opportunities to hear about
all of the Ufology and Paranormal events that they will cover. As for Knapp fans, myself included, I will also bet he will be featured in both camps,
and that will be great for both him and us as well.
