Before his excellent site went away, I had printed off some of Glenn Campbell's reviews on the claims of Dan Sherman / "Project Preserve Destiny". I manually re-typed them into MS-Word documents at => www.stealthskater.com... .

Glenn also featured an critique on Mr. Sherman by abduction researcher Katharina Wilson. I admit I'm out-of-my-league when it comes to "abductions". Just as none of the experts can prove (to the satisfaction of skeptics) any abduction has taken place, I can't justify why I lean toward the explanation that most of these episodes might be akin to the "screen memory plants" that Martin Cannon and others talk about. [see item #16 at www.stealthskater.com... and the downloadable MS-Word document at www.stealthskater.com... ] I could be wrong, of course. (A new twist to the Betty & Barney Hill "abduction" was that the ETs were supervising the military's test of implanting an "abduction" memory. But who will every know?! And by sheer chance, I met a graduate student in either psychiatry-or-psychology -- I can't remember which -- and she said that hypnotism is not considered a valid research tool in academic curriculum. That was surprising to me!)

There are rumored to be at least three "S4" sites in the greater Dreamland complex. The one that Lazar and Burisch reportedly worked at is more properly termed 'Papoose Site 4'. Both of these guys said there was also a "Project Looking Glass" on-going at this location. I did a quick Google search and posted my findings at item I near the bottom of www.stealthskater.com... . Not to my surprise, these documents (by different authors) didn't seem to be supportive of each other. But maybe there's some Sherlock Holmes types here that are more adept at extracting facts than I am ...

The psych student is correct: hypnosis is not considered reliable, nor is "recovered memory."

They did a study on this within the past 15 years and discovered that the hypnotist can "lead the person on" with the wrong sort of questions and essentially end up with the person confirming what the hypnotist believes.

For example, if you get an "alien abduction victim" and have them hypnotized by a skeptical hypnotist, you're going to get a MUCH different picture than you do from a believer hypnotist. The believer will encourage them to tell stories and details (which the mind will obligingly make up, research has shown) that conform to the believer's attitude. The skeptic will end up with a more skeptical slant that indicates need for psychiatric treatment.

Are either of those views the truth? No one can say.

Project "Preserve Destiny" & "Looking Glass"

Stealthskater:

Good Post ! I have spent over and hour and a half following the links you have provided. Very interesting and informative.

I would like to offer my own opinion as to the validity and background of former TSGT Sherman. Sgt Sherman was a member of the USAF component assigned to NSA, and which when I was assigned to it was designated "USAFSS", and now is designated as "ESC" (Electronic Security Command).

In reading most of the" preview" portion of Sgt. Sherman's book I was struck by the structured format of the book and its information. It was consistent and totally conforms to the security structure required by and for insuring secrecy at the highest levels.

Sgt Sherman, by virtue of his "cover mission", would have held a Top Secret-Codeword security clearance, and therefor would have a legitimate "cover" not only for his (purported) "black project", Project Preserve Destiny, but also to deter questions about his work in general. I do believe his background is real.

I was also impressed to find the use of at least two (2)
Codewords, which I have certain knowledge were used during my stint in USAFSS (1958-1962), AND which were only "de-classified" in either late 1999 or early 2000. This was from some of the "links" other then from Sgt Sherman's book or from interviews with him. This is important because the un-authorized disclosure of a Codeword, linked to its Security Classification Level, is in and of itself a breach of security consistant with that of Top Secret. Example: " Top Secret-XXXXX", where the X's stand for the Codeword).

All in all, your Post was worthwhile and informative. Keep up the good work,

USAFSS-SP
