Well, that doesn't mean one bit to a poster who hasn't read about it before.
Within the context of his/her life, their experience is unique.

I must say, I am reasonably well-read, and I do have a great interest in certain "fringe" topics, but I only read about this phenomenon three, maybe four years ago - and it wasn't here.
(Actually, I haven't even noticed any such threads here.)

What a beautiful account, Th0r.

I don't know whether she was "thinking" of you, or you were able to read the event (and feel, retrospectively, the pain you had inflicted - although I can assure you it wasn't as bad as you thought, at least not physically :-), but there is no doubt in my mind that you and the dog were "synchronised" in consciousness at that moment.

P.S. You weren't a "demon child" - you were just a human child, I am sorry to say.
But I am happy to see what that incident brought you.

Not everyone transcends their inborn human cruelty like you did.

Anyway one day at school lunch I thought why do I throw pebbles at my dog this is a stupid and mean thing and must make the dog really upset and sad and when I would go home I would play with her instead, this was strange because I would never think about home when I was at school, let alone my dog.

That very day the dog died from a blog clot in its heart. Very upsetting and strange. It changed me as a person for the better, a few years later some kid was talking about putting a cat in a show box and burying it and I broke his nose! I was about 11

I just wanted to repost Th0r's story from page 18 so everyone knows what we're talking about here.

I agree with Vanitas. I find this story somehow beautifull, too. To me, it seems like it may be the experience that taught Th0r the quality of empathy and/or respect for nature and all things living. It's also a bit of a sad story. But I can somehow relate to it. I liked it very much. And thanks again Th0r, for having the courage to post it. Be well.

I had a friend who was a rather gifted psychic, though he wasn't right 100% of the time, and would never claim to be. He never did anything for money or any other material gratification, as he considered it to be wrong, a belief I hold thanks to him. He would "read" for people as what he considered a service. His real interest though was in ghosts and spirits.

He died of a stroke. A few days after his passing, I experienced an incredible smell and immediately thought of him. Asking another of his friends, who had known him many years longer than I, she described a particular cologne he had worn. I have no way of knowing for certain if what I smelled was this as I hadn't known of it before. But I certainly believe it was at least connected.

I'm not sure this could be considered my strangest experience, as I'm sure it can be seen as far less bizarre than at least some of what I've posted. I'm not sure why I'm thinking of this now. Probably the thread about phantom smells. But I know he'd appreciate being remembered in a place like this.

Hi Traveler. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Thank you for taking a moment to tell us about him. He sounds interesting to say the least. I'd like to hear more about his abilities if you have some time.

I've caught phantom smells, too. For me, it was after breaking up with my first love. I was very depressed and out walking one night, I could smell the particular hairspray she used. It stayed with me for maybe 10 minutes. I remember wondering if something might have happened to her and how strange that would be. Fortunately nothing did happen to her. But it's still strange, in my opinion. The mind is a very powerfull thing. Be well.

That's lovely.

And the fact that you immediately thought of him is as clear an indication as you can get that it WAS (about) him.

My suspicion is that what we see and perceive with our five senses might be a very small percentage, like up to 5%, of what there is.

But that's fodder for another thread...

I was sat on a bench with four of my mates on a common feild in hayes , bromley.
We all saw an object come from the seven sisters and slowly and silently came towards us , it was rotating .
The object was orange bubbles that looked like there was a being sat inside.
It flew over us and disapeared into the woods , a strange mist slowly flowed over the ground behind it .I wanted to follow it but my mates bottled it and ran away. Just an experience to share.:-)

His abilities seemed to stem from a childhood accident, head trauma while sled riding. He would develop severe headaches after too many readings. I wondered if this also contributed to his death. He used cards, but always insisted they were merely guide points, and had nothing to do with any ability which he considered a gift.

Saying he was gifted is to say that he was able to nail down specific points that were also obscure, rather than generalizations. For me, the most memorable was him seeing adoption papers. This was something no one at the time knew other than immediate family, whom I had no real contact with, since I'd never had reason to discuss it. It was also the first time I'd ever met him. I found it most fascinating to watch him with other people, the expressions on their faces. But, as I said, he wasn't 100% accurate, mostly pertaining to the future. I believe for him it was like picking out branches on a tree.

His interest in ghosts lead him to help us out with a spirit we had, nothing harmful, just curious. He told us it was an elderly woman and we received confirmation from a neighbor. This is obviously more speculative, but what he told us just felt right, and we had no reason to doubt him from our other experiences.

She was incredibly active with sounds, opening/closing doors and my first physical contact. She touched me while I was doing dishes and he explained that she was curious as to why a man was doing the dishes

That was a housing project, and honestly nearly the most haunted place I've ever lived. It seemed to almost be a ghostly "super highway" as we weren't the only ones to have experiences there, some of which are more startling than anything I've experienced personally. Things seemed to come and go all the time, with varying degrees of pleasantness.

Anyway, back to him, I'd like to say that he is the only psychic I've ever met that I've believed in fully. He taught me the value of integrity in the "arts". As I said, he never accepted material payment as he believed it tainted the whole affair. He also taught me that these things don't need to "perfect" to be real, and that the real ones almost never are. A wonderful man, and I'm glad I've had the opportunity to share my memory of him.

I completely agree. I know some of the things I've experienced likely have common/psychological roots or causes, but I humbly submit that I can never know for sure (and have never found a "cure"), so there is always reason for me to at least believe in the possibility.

Seen as though im only 17 nearly 18! i have had alot of unexplainable things happen and / or still happening!

Current Events:

> I can see colors around things including objects (known as auras)

> Feel other people's emotions and fears. (freaks my mates out alot!!)

> Talk in my sleep about possible events or occurances in my everyday life

> Lights flicker as i focus or feel a certain emotion. ( EXTREMELY WEIRD!)

Past Events:

> Saw a huge triangular UFO in spain on holiday, which at the time i was about 12 and freaked me out a whole lot! Decided not to go out at night time as this is when i saw it, i was also with my dad which freaked him out too!

> At my old house don't know about if it was haunted, but had alot of history which turned a previous owner histerical and hung herself. After staying there for a few months the family couldn't take it so moved.

> At my primary school witnessed many ghost sightings along with my friends at the time. One of which was in the cellar, where me and a few other people saw an elderly man kind of faint and blury walk into a wall

i have a few more but i'm going out soon so i will leave it until another day! But hope you enjoy reading a few and maybe you can relate to them in some way!?

Fascinating account. Thank you very much for taking a moment to elaborate. I've always been very intrigued by things of this nature. The jury's still out on this topic for me, but my mind remains open. Like I said before, the mind is a very powerfull thing and at least a part of me, wouldn't be too surprised if there was really something to things of this nature. Thanks again. Take care.

Good stuff here, too. I think you'd be a lot of fun to go to parties with. LOL. Canyou control any of it or is it somewhat more involuntary or even reactionary? Cheers for posting.

Im working on controlling it! The lights flickering is proving quite difficult as it is just random and sub-consious. But the other things like the feeling peoples emotions is controllable and the auras ive learned to block out!

Sometimes it is exciting but most of the time its just everyday stuff just like brushing your teeth in the morning.

Hi L2L. Thanks for your kind words but honestly, the thread is nothing without all the great contributions by our fellow members. And I've read every single post on here several times. I've learned tons and am constantly amazed with how well it's gone off. I love these stories! Thank you all for that!

And I'm also surprised that the thread will fade and see no action for a couple weeks and then I see it at the top of the "Recently Posted" list again with a few new hits on it. Or I'll notice that while it hasn't got any new posts, someone must have been reading through it because they've given it another flag. That's just awesome to me.

And here we are again. After a few quiet weeks, it popped back to life yesterday and today we're just a few posts shy of 400! We've also hit 40 flags! I've started several other threads on ATS in the nearly 5 months I've been a member, but this one is my favorite. Thanks again, to everyone. Be well all.

I had a direct mind connection with a friend while on '___' when we were 16. The whole night we said next to nothing, but did many things. We were in the flow, so to speak. I knew we were having the same thoughts, but that these thoughts were not our own. Hard to properly describe, I guess we were on the same frequency level? I would look at him, he would nod, and we would go downstairs and smoke a bowl in silence. Out of the blue I would have an insight, look him in the eyes, and he would reply, I know! This happened for like 8 hours straight until we came down. I've had similar experiences, but only for instances, never for the whole night. I think the fact that we are both highly-intuitive and at about the same intelligence level has something to do with it.

Besides that, I had a no-mind experience while totally sober. It was just before Katrina hit, I became emotionally unstable at one point and droped to my knees to pray. I went outside of my mind and experienced endless lightning-like consciousness...very hard to explain, but I've never experienced anything like it on any of the drugs I've taken. I had a feeling like I was connected to everyone and everything. That I was experiencing bliss and spreading positive vibrations everywhere. Really wierd, almost schizophrenic experience, but it did happen, nonetheless.

I have been reading this thread on and off while "working"
Im only on page 8 but I want to add my own stories.

I was at our local amusement park when I was around 15 or 16 years old. it was a nice park, lots of rides, games, arcades, etc. I remember going into one of the arcade sections and playing some games with my friends. Upon leaving the arcade they had one of those real old looking "fortune teller" machines with the creepy anatomic fortune tellers that would move and give you your fortune on a little piece of printed paper. It instantly reminded me of that movie "Big". Well we all thought it would be funny to try it out, besides it was only a quarter. The fortunes were exactly what you would expect them to be, vague and cheesy. On the bottom they had a list of about 5 lucky numbers similar to a chinese fortune. i cannot remember all the numbers but it was something like this. 3, 7, 15, 33, 821. I nearly dropped to the ground when I saw this. 821 was my "lucky number" all my life. I chose it when I was about 5 for no real reason, but would always use it when I got the chance. Like I said there was about 5 of us and no one else's fortunes had lucky numbers above 99. so why did mine alone have the one oddball number 821 that happened to be my exact lucky number. I kept the ticket for many years but lost it between moves somehow.. but I will never forget it.

Another weird story happened a few years later, I believe I was 17 because it was right before I moved out of my parents house. I was sleeping on my stomach in bed, it was 2am, and I woke startled because something smacked me right on the rear. I remember being half awake and reaching behind me and feeling my shoe laying between my legs. It took a minute to comprehend what was going on. Eventually I got out of bed and turned the light on to confirm that yes my shoe had been thrown and hit me fairly hard. I immediately went and woke my brother up trying to ask him why he threw my shoe! It took about 2 minutes to even get him to answer the question. I know my brother, and he was clearly sound asleep, i mean crusty eyes, drool, everything. My parents slept halfway across the house. no one else was there... but someone , something, had thrown it hard enough to wake me from my sleep. Many other minor strange things happened in that house, I am convinced it was haunted.

My daughter, who is 6 now, has read the mind of my wife and I on numerous occasions. Nothing major, she will just react or answer questions that we have not said aloud. Its amazing, but always random and has happened about 6 or 7 times now.

Hi Samureyed. Thanks for posting. I like the fortune teller story. I love when things like this happen in life. One of those moments that shake us from our day to day haze and make us stop and wonder. Such a strange coincidence. Always makes me wonder if someone's messing with me, you know?

Also, thanks very much for the flag, and I hope you'll post more as you progress through the thread. Thanks again. Peace.

1) One time when I was about 10 or 11, a thunderstorm just passed over our house just outside of Philadelphia. I was in the living room, about to walk down the hallway into the kitchen. My mom and brother were walking the other way down the hallway, and I kid you not, some bright "orb", which i swear had to have been ball lightening, floated right inbetween my brother and mom. I didnt see where it came from or originated, but i saw it pass inbetween them and zap the door knob to the bathroom in the hallway. They just stood there completely dumbfounded, and I was just stuck wondering, what if it would of touched one of them.

2) Every year since I was 9 up until I was 14, I would go up to Lake Placid, New York for a yearly hockey tournament. Its pretty much in the middle of nowhere in the Arodinodak(sp?) Mts. Its the place of one of the winter olympic games in the 80's. Well, usually when we would go up there, we would pass through some mountain roads through blizzards from hell. One time, which I will never forget to this day, it was snowing pretty bad. We had to creep at about 15mph through a few inches of snow on this one forest/mountain road. We were also just about the only car on the road at around noon time since many people didn't want to drive through it. As we were driving, we spotted a woman, trudging through the snow, in a wedding dress. As we passed her, we tried to get a look at her face, but she had a veil over her face, and her head was bowed. We drove about a quarter mile, and we were all wondering about why someone would be walking down the road in a snowstorm in a wedding dress. We decided to turn around to ask if she needed help. We turned around and looked for her, but she dissapeared completely. What's even weirder, is that her tracks were completely absent also. We were absolutely stupified obviously. We still talk about it to this day.
