videogames.yahoo.com...

I downloaded this and love it! Made my own duck and raptor so far. And this is just a demo not everything you can do and add! So Cool!

I had a giggle with the free creature creator yesterday, spent a good half an hour trying to make a creature that didn't work, for example a really tall creature that had a huge head, skinny body and a couple of tiny legs.

Damn thing wobbled around quite happy!

oh, thanks for posting! I've been waiting for this for a long time.

Did any of you see the video of Robin Williams making a Spore creature?

He is a funny, funny man

The options are fairly limited, but from what you are given you can make countless possible creatures.

My first creation was a Spoopl:

and then came the Skleopod!

My next 2 creations, these 2 are my personal favourites so far:

Gatordyle:

and Hoppamaus

Grrrr. I've just discovered that it requires a 2 Ghz cpu. I've only got a 1.4 Ghz cpu. I was so looking forwards to this game. I downloaded the demo and it didn't even give me a chance at giving it a try no matter how slow. (sigh)

I was messing with the creature creator yesterday, it was pretty fun.

But I got bored quickly. IMO this game has lost it's luster.

Keep in mind the creature creator is only a demo and only has 10% of the full version's parts.

That, and the fact that the game will let you guide your own creation through time will be pretty amazing.

I'd say still give it a shot when the game is released. Demo versions are never as good as the real thing

Can't argue with logic like that.

You are totally right, Maybe I was a little harsh.

Technically it is not even a spore demo. It's a demo of one very small part of the game interface and contains no gameplay whatsoever. As far as gameplay goes, I do not think an actual game demo will be possible.

If anyone else makes some good looking creatures and wants to show them off:

  • Go into test-drive and give them a pose
  • Click the camera button to take a photo
  • Click the flashing 4x4 photo icon next to the camera for the option to save your photos to disc. They will automatically appear in My Documents/My Spore Creations as both PNG and JPG files.
  • Upload to Photobucket or Imageshack etc and show them off

Bah! I spent a couple hours playing around last night but when I went into the game to snap some pics my creature is not there. My page shows that I have created one, and I can see a snapshot of it in the online panel but it is not available to open. Lost.

I'm very interested in this but I just took an age to download it and now can't find were it might have saved it.

So I think I gotta do it all over again.

My Venomous Duck. My friend says he wants one as a guard duck but I keep telling him there is no such thing. Well, now there is, lol.

And this is just with the basic options. WHo knows what could have been made with the full version!

    Hah, nice.

Yeah, it is pretty crazy the amount of combinations from the 'demo' version alone.

When you all get a chance go through the Sporepedia of the 30 creatures that come included. They are made with the full version of the editor. There are some really wacky designs.

Can't wait to get my hands on the full thing!

Go to the US EA store and choose "click and buy" as an option and you will be able to buy/DL the full editor

    Peace
