I think you just hit it on the head.
The point of it, considering our significance can be measured in measures of negative magnitude, would be for us to do whatever it is we can, for as
long as we can. But then you read studies about chimps that are given two options. One leads to an electrically stimulated orgasm, the other gave them
food.
They sat around all day giving themselves orgasm after orgasm.
Maybe it is our ego which allows us to disassociate ourselves with the 'animals', and assume we
must have some higher purpose...
I wonder how many of us would starve ourselves to death; spent, and smiling.
