A booth at this weekend’s Texas Republican convention sold buttons asking, “If Obama Is President…Will We Still Call It The White House?”:

You know, I'm pretty much staying out of the whole sham of electorals anymore, as it is nothing but a dog and pony show, parading the puppets that have been hand-selected to rule us by the CFR / Central bankers, Corps, and M.I.C...

But I do have to say that even I am a little taken back by the transparent racism that is floating around this campaign. There is a monkey sock-puppet make the rounds with tons of publicity, and now this type of stuff right out in the wide open at a GOP convention. So much for us evolving past the whole racial divide. Different day, same story of hatred and unacceptance, based on nationality. Sigh.

The company that makes the buttons boasts providing “Patriotic and Republican Products.” Another button they sell features a picture of Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), with the phrase: “Life’s a b**ch, don’t vote for one.”

I literally groaned, and hoped before reading the post that it was found at some stand in a corner somewhere.

That said, I don't see the conspiracy aspect of this, just the stupidity aspect. It's more political news.

And btw, you've got a coding error that's making the thread overrun the page borders.

Eh, starting in January I saw several liberals roaming around with a shirt that had both Obama and Hillary on it and said "Bros before hos" with "Obama 08" on the back. If we're to believe Al Sharpton, that shirt should have been far more offensive and objectionable than practically anything short of blatent racial slurs. Claims of racism where slogans, sayings, comments, etc are concerned are a cop out. Unless you can demonstrate that you were negatively affected in a tangible way (in other words, getting your "feelings hurt" doesn't count as no adult should ever complain their feelings were hurt whatsoever) then I believe playing the racism card is purely a flailing attempt to illicit an emotionally charged sympathetic response.

Oh, and personally if Obama is elected I won't consider it the white house while he's occupying it, but don't take that as a racist statement. I'll consider it the red house, as in communism.

This is one of those comments that probably became offensive more out of context than out of meaning. If it had been Robin Williams or Jay Leno most people would probably laugh.

I found it mildly amusing and didn't read too much into it.

It's hard to believe the makers of these buttons are being so blatant about it, but I'm trying to take some humor from it. Political figures are going to be made fun of for WHATEVER people notice about them. Obama's black. The first black president. There are going to be some jokes about that. But at a Republican convention? That's pretty bad taste, IMO.

My question is were these guys wearing white suits and pointy hats. Thats being pretty blatant about a sensitive issue. That is not appropriate to have at the Republican Convention and those guys should have been ejected from the premises.

I wonder if these idiots spent any time thinking how badly this would make the entire GOP look.

Interesting that when you try to point out how political blindness is none existent in this nation, they cry foul play for bringing on the race card.

Well American is still racist and this is one of the issues that tells you how really things are, people can sugar coated anyway they want to with political rethorics but that is the truth.

I stand by my words, people when looking at Obama the first thing the see is the color of his skin.

Plain and simple.
