I posted on the thread that was closed recently, so I will ask again- what is the significance of the baby powder in the ritual? Incense is expected, but I was sort of surprised by the powder. Is it because the creature was a newborn? Also, despite all of the implications, I really feel sorry for this poor thing. It is cute to me- I wonder if it would stand on two legs or four?

Don't want to bash, and it's probably too late anyways.
But it really bugs me how a story can travel around the net and become breaking news again and again...

This was up in November and in May... and again now?!

NOt a veternarian, but was first a biologist, now a physician:

1. head is mis-shapen, dysmorphic, where are the eye sockets, nostrils, etc?
hydrocephalus?

2. very difficult to evaluate gender, assume its female.

3. short limbs may be from early gestational age, not dwarfism.

4, This ain't alien. (watch out lloyd pye types!)

I read the article and I find it very interesting that they treated it as a human being and ritualized it as such....Perhaps they know something we don't, won't or can't understand....

I think perhaps there are people in this world that are driven by something called humanity rather than greed, power and self interest.

I know that sounds crazy but just go with it for the sake of this post.

In all honesty, it looks like a cow birth gone wrong. I don't think this is an alien.

However, the part of this story I find most interesting is their ritual. I find it interesting and humane how they treated this particular animal.

I wonder if they do this for all animals they find dead or if they do it for ones they believe to be of some sort of supernatural, religious or other significance?

Either way, I certainly am glad they did not resort to slicing the animal open and experimenting on it.

Its dead, something went horribly wrong, lets leave it at that and allow nature to do its thing. Stop slicing everything open.

Very, very interesting thread. And very interesting note of the human-animal hybridization experiments. Starred & Flagged.

Is this a human-animal experiment, or an alien-animal experiment? Bizarre, whatever it is.

Beat me to it

Bovine achondroplasia

a calf with a short muzzle and brachycephalic skull, usually resulting from chondrodystrophy; associated with this condition are shortened limbs and anomalies of the vertebral centra; it often results in respiratory and feeding difficulties, and is sometimes fatal.

Quite interesting indeed...out of all of the cases of Bovine Achondroplasia, I don't see any pictures of this condition that remotely resembles this malformation...far be it for me to point out that I looked it up and it did not jive though....
