The only way i see to truly secure our borders is a total lockdown. No one enters. I say bring all the troops home, place them on the borders. We need to have anti-missile sites all over that would take down a missile fired at us. Ban all flights into the country except for freight and goods that need to be imported.
I say its time to let other countries fight their own battles, feed their hungry, and take care of their own citizens. Its time to stop being first responders for every little event worldwide. I could quote times where we have sent millions of dollars in food drops and financial aid to other countries and where has it gotten us? Am I the only one feels like this or should we keep all this money at home?? any thoughts?

As a Canadian, I find it strange that I agree with your analysis. What you outline is what should have happened after 9/11, but your nation followed Bush blindly on a revenge-quest.

I would suggest that you close all overseas military bases and then build five new military bases per state.

It's exactly what needs to happen, but it never will.

I have long been a proponent of the idea of using lethal force to stop any and all illegal invaders, whether they be from the north or the south.

I see this as the worst idea possible, only because i think that this would only usher in The Greater Depression quicker in some way. I'm not too educated in this subject however so my opinion isn't set in stone or anything.

Can anybody help disprove me on this? Not a big challenge or anything but am i on the right track or am i completely wrong?

On what grounds do you think it would cause a depression? Lack of cheap foreign made goods?

Certainly things would be rough in the beginning, but a depression? Not very likely.

That will never happen because it wouldn't be America. We have to much at stake to lock down our borders. If we did that then we couldn't go anywhere either. Sounds to much like Troy and we would be doomed. America doesn't need locked down, it needs a government that sticks to the laws of the land and only allow certain people into our country legally.

I think it's a great idea. Lock down the borders, isolate the country, declare martial law. Nobody in, nobody out. That'd spark a revolution for sure.

Isolationism,at its maxim would probably do harm to the country eventually. However isolationism brought to bear on our borders and on imported goods would help the economy in the long run.Americans need to invest in america. To many investors have sold the united states short. Manufactures have gone overseas for cheap labor and greater profits. People don't seem to realize that this economy is multi tiered and profits reinvested in the country stabilize it.When people buy more and more goods from overseas our economy weakens and the dollar inflates.

Wake up america! You're selling your birth right for cheap imported goods.

The U.S. could likely realize, at least initially, greater cost for goods, thus damaging the already fragile economy. I think to a large degree it would hinge on whether the U.S. was willing to drill offshore, say, Alaska and Florida for oil, and wether even that would be enough to supply the domestic need. Thing is, if there's no movement between the U.S. and the rest of the world, the U.S. might, by its isolationism, not be privvy to the trade agreements in place. I understand your issue, and shared the same when we lived there. I think the reality of it though, is dangerously close to a police state, where citizens would be prohibited from leaving the borders, to say nothing of the problems of "locking down" Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam, etc.

On the surface of it, it sounds good, something I'd toast to whilst enjoying a fermented adult beverage and nachos (ooo!) with my buddies. I think the reality of it might be very costly.

On a personal level, I've wondered each year that we live here (Caribbean) if it's the last we'll be able to go home to the States again. Sad thought.

Interesting post though, keep us all thinking and pondering solutions; that's the way to raise the awareness and make a real change.

cheers

What an awful idea! Shall we chip the citizens? Set cameras in all homes and rooms therein?

Is your heart that of a lizard?

I agree. It wouldn't reflect a human heart. As for our government... To best understand why it does what it does... Read the Terra Papers ( www.abovetopsecret.com... ). The original link does not work. But there are links in the thread that do (pg 18 has a torrent).

After about page 40, it all comes home.

My Queen, Lady Amaterasu, daughter of Ea, I think the stranger part is that the lizard-hearted who control the USA deliberately kept the borders open. To what purpose? For what reason? There is always a deeper deceit among the lizard-hearted than we seem to be able to grasp.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I have not had internet access for a while. (What's a queen to do? LOL!)

Anyway, the more they can consolidate, the more they can act against (FEMA prison camps, anyone?). Think 1984 here (and there are plenty of things which point to a concerted effort to bring about a lot of 1984ish things...). Three world powers, perpetually at war.

Yes, the lizard-hearted are very good at some very deep deceit. Somehow I manage to think as they do without losing my love for my royal family... It's like I know them...but am not one of them. Maybe that's why I knew the Terra Papers were true. [shrug]
