So before I give allyuh the story lemme give yuh a lil background. The house I live in is about 12 years old.. The guy and his wife had it built.. Shortly after completion his wife died.. They had a daughter that looks exactly like my step daughter when she was her age. Ok here's the story..

Ok so last week I was in my newborn daughters nursery feeding her at about 3am.. My fiance was knocked out as was the stepdaughter.. So I'm sittin there peacefully feeding the chile when I hear a womans voice go "awwww".. I looked up thinkin it was my fiance but she ass was in our room snoring like the apocolypse soon reach and the step daughter layin next to her doing the same.. Now our room is about 25 - 30 feet from the nursery so I know it couldn't have been them cause this "awwww" noise was like someone was sittin right next to me.. So I keep quiet bout that one..Then juss saturday night I sleepin in the bed about 4am when I feel someone lifting my foot up and down up and down, I could feel a hand wrapped around my ankle.. I sit up startled and NO ONE IS #IN THERE, but I get the urge to go check on the chile.. Get to the nursery and the baby done pull the lil blanket up coverin her face.. Now I'd just watched news reports stating not to cover they face with blankets etc when they sleep cause it can cause SIDS... So is like whoever was messin with meh feet was tryin to wake me up to go check on the baby.. I'm gonna let it stay for now because is not being a nuisance and it seems peaceful enough.. I just have a strong feelin is old dudes wife man.. Oh also our bedroom is directly above the family room and I swear every night when we are down in the family room we hear footsteps walkin around in our room above... Any of allyuh ever have such a thing tek place?

Yep, that's just about how I speak at home. It's Caribbean English.

Now back on topic people.

Yeah sounds like you got something and it maybe the dude's wife. If you want to get some proof you can always put up a tape recorder downstairs and maybe a video camera and see what turns up.

My grandmother had a similar experience with one of her children. She was visiting relatives in a small Mexican village in the mid 1940s. The home she was staying at had a bedroom that opened up to a central courtyard.

One evening as she was tending her sleeping baby, an elderly woman wearing an old fashioned dress and a shawl, walked into the room. She walked over to the baby, tucked the blanket a little and walked out.

Naturally, my grandmother thought it was a neighbor visiting the home. When she mentioned the incident to the homeowners, they smiled hesitantly and agreed that it was indeed one of the village women. It wasn't until several years later that they told her that it was a ghost, and that they didn't want to upset her at the time.

So, it wouldn't surprise me if you had a maternal spirit residing in your home.

In my honest opinion, whenever 'she' does something nice for you, make sure you thank her. It should make for a very pleasant experience! Sounds to me like she wants to help out and be part of the family.

I've heard lots of stories like this. An english teacher in high school told us about an old man's ghost that she literally grew up with. She said he would always make sure the cabinets were closed, and they would set him out a cup of coffee in the morning, and he would come into the kitchen and sit down with them for breakfast. She said they wouldn't see him, but the chair would slide out on it's own, and scoot back up to the table as if someone was sitting down.

I can't remember where I heard this one, but I remember something about a ghost that would let some guy's dogs in and out, lol!

Ive heard at least a half dozen stories of people getting friendly and being helped regularly by their household "ghost" or whatever it may be so it doesn't hurt to give it a shot before trying to get rid of it. if it starts to turn bad on you though get it out asap because ive ALSO heard a couple stories where those things have turned nasty fast

hey, if she's looking after your daughter then i wouldn't want rid of her, you can always move her on if she starts getting angry.

the spelling in the first post didn't bother me at all, quite enjoyed it, but i'm curious, is a jumbie just a plain ghost or a particular type of ghost?

First of all I love you writing is just so different and refreshing, I'm Spanish and people sometimes do not appreciate the different background of members, don't let this bother you I been there and back.

You need to keep a diary of the experiences you are having and if they are related to warnings in references to members specially the baby then is just like having and extra babysitter around.

If this experiences are just limited to that they you have noting to worry about it, you story sounds very interesting and we will like to hear more.

There was always a presence in my grandma's house that I felt every night I slept there. I would be in my bed trying to go to sleep, and I would feel a person walk up to my bed to look at me. It felt like my mom was checking on me. It was that exact feeling. I would get the goose bumps because I knew it was a ghost. You could hear a human walking in that house because of the squeaky floor, so I knew there was no living being walking in the room. I felt it for years and years. Nothing bad ever happened. I think "she" just wanted me to go to sleep like a good girl and make sure I was OK. I also would be awakened from bad dreams by a gentle shake of my foot in that house.

I think you should just let it be and appreciate your invisible babysitter's concern over the baby. Like others have said - let her know you care and appreciate her presence.

Incidentally- was the "awwww" sound like someone saying "awww, how cute..." kind of awww or a ghostly moan?

Oh, and as soon as I saw your post title I knew you were Carribean
Nothing wrong with typing the way you talk-it adds character to the prose in your case
