I'm far from sure to what extent the U.S.A. is controlled by dark forces at the highest levels of power, but it doesn't look good from a truly democratic point of view to this Canadian observer. I have to also say that I am equally doubtful about my own country's true level of democracy.

I recently spent a few minutes watching Harrison Ford playing the role of the president fighting off terrorists on an airplane, and I remember cheering for him when I first saw the film.

But this time I just couldn't get into cheering for the pres, and in fact I recently can't comfortably cheer for any American movie hero that portrays a government sanctioned figure. If they are fighting against the government, then I can get on-board.

Will I ever again be able to cheer for a Hollywood American hero that is portraying a main-stream CIA, FBI type?

I believe that it's highly unlikely. I feel sad that I have reached this conclusion.
