Just officially joined ATS this morning.
I've been browsing some of the threads on ATS for a number of months but i found something this morning that i just needed to post.
I ran a search to see if there were any similar threads but couldn't find any.
Please give me your thoughts on the article.

The BBC article is about a planet in another solar system.

Planet X is another planet in our solar system.

Your title's premise cannot be valid.

I saw this report too, very interesting as far as planet searching goes.

Welcome to ATS, finally, ..

Not much to go on as regards it being in any way related to any planet X.

First it's already orbiting a distant star, though they don't say where this star is supposed to be... not even a rough 'ball park' figure..they just say 'distant'.

Oh, and just in case you were not aware... making your own thread title for breaking news topics isn't really the way to go.. try to use the same topic title as the original report.. and don't forget to add a tag of some descript too, helps others to find what you've posted and saves them posting the same stuff only to have it moved to another section or closed...

Keep it up though.. will be watching to see what else you come up with

Believe it or not, there are planets in the Universe that we have not discovered. Believe it or not, we are not technologically advanced enough to discover them all at once.

Simply because the theoretical time table for discovery of a theoretical planet just happens to barely coincide with the discovery of an actual planet beyond our Solar System does not mean that that planet is "Planet X".

Should we stop all discovery of planetary bodies until this allegedly inevitable date comes and goes where we are supposed to realize the "truth" about "Nibiru" and "Planet X"? Its looking that way because no matter what, any piece of rock found in this Solar System, or even in this Galaxy, will be considered "Planet X" by you people.

I mean, seriously. Its like claiming there's aliens and filming and taking pictures of everything in the hopes that you get a glimpse of an object that you can twist everyone's perception in to believing that it is an actual alien....oh wait, people do that too.

I wasn't aware that the existance of Planet X had been confirmed. The only evidence people have to go by our the remains of the Sumerian culture. Other theories suggest that Planet X has a much longer ecliptical orbit. I'm not claiming that this is defnitely Planet X/Nibiru, I was merely suggesting it. I've also read a few theories about the whole Planet X scenario being a mini solar system with an orbit around or sun.
With the large orbit couldn't it be mistaken for a planet in another solar system.
I'm not exactly a scientist so correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah it seems pretty vague as a whole but maybe some more detailed information will be released in the weeks to come.

I realize that we are nowhere near as advanced to have discovered all the planets in the universe. I'm pretty sure that as the universe is said to be expanding it would be pretty impossible.

I don't beleive in a timetable for the discovery of Planet X and beleive me I'm not saying that it IS Planet X. I'm not saying that it's some planet thats going to wipe out the human race in 2012, I was suggesting that it may be Planet X - a planet thought to be in our solar system which originally had no references to an apocalyptic year.

I don't really appreaciate the term: 'you people.' Don't categorize me or anyone as some sort of doomsday freak (I expect that's what you were impying). People have different beliefs which should be respected.

I'm with you on that last part. But I had no intention of coming across like that.

Less than 2 years ago I posted a thread on Exosolar Planet Spotting where scientists had found a distant planet 5.5 times larger than Earth. Seems we are finding smaller and smaller worlds (the article says 3x the size of earth)... cool stuff.

I'm categorizing "you people" as believers in Planet X. When I call you doomsday freaks then maybe this will have some validity. Until then, don't make assumptions about what I am saying.

Did a bit of research and thanks. Didn't realize how far away it actually was. Sorry to be a bit misleading there. Still though, Planet X aside, a new planet similar to the size of Earth which may have water

Ok, well that's fair enough. Sorry for taking that the wrong way. Just to add I wouldn't say I'm a believer in the whole Planet X stuff I just have an interest in it and where people are getting their 'evidence' from.

It's funny that we seem to be able to find planets in solar systems many light years away, but cant seem to find Planet X lurking in our own solar system

that is if it does exist
it seems pretty obvious that there is life out there somewhere though. especially with all these reports on abductions and the likes.
