I have been around this site for years posting conspiracy theories but mostly reading threads attempting to learn new things.

Recently perhaps going back a year I have shied away from posting theories of a conspiratorial nature because of the more msm views of many members, I'm not whining here, I do love a good debate. If you wanna know what I'm talking about just post a thread about secret societies, the NWO, Chemtrails, or anything relating to 2012, and quickly you will understand what I'm talking about.

In many of these cases I have witnessed there is a serious lack of discussion on these topics. A thread will be started and the debunkers come out of the blue debunking there little hearts out, but usually not with fact but with condescending and belittling attitudes. Lets face it, most conspiracy theory's can't be supported by cold hard facts, if they could they wouldn't be conspiracies.

What say you?

I say that we who are true to the art of the truth must roll with these punches. If our theories and ideas cant hold up to these people, or their attacks then prehaps our thoughts and feelings have flaws that we need to take a look at, and rethink.
Yes I have gotten frustrated with some of the things I have heard, and had to roll with on here.. But over all its helped me become stronger, and made my skin a bit thicker.
Its good training to have people comming at you from all sides trying to tear you down. If they are able to tear you down, then its back to the drawing board.. Dont lose heart, and dont lose hope.
They are here becasue more people are waking up!!

So the more skeptics the better! IF everyone just turned a blind eye to all our ideas, and took no time to even respond then that means no one is listening.

Ive had my fill of people telling me Im a nutter, or Im totally off base and have no idea what Im talking about. And yes it got to me for a little while.
Im only human, and its these human emotions that try their best to in a round about way try to shut us down, or shut us up.
When infact it only makes our ideas stronger, when they can hold up to even the most skeptics of all skeptics.
While on the same hand, some skeptics you can not reason with. They are set in their ways, and no matter what you tell them, its not going to get threw to them.. And those are trolls.. Skeptics and trolls are 2 different things IMO.
I welcome skeptics into my threads, but try not to feed the trolls.

Thats what I think.. hope it helps

Skeptics I can take....

skep·tic Audio Help /ˈskɛptɪk/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[skep-tik] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1. a person who questions the validity or authenticity of something purporting to be factual.

dictionary.reference.com...

If we go by this main definition, I am a skeptic. I am not, however a "troll" and I think that your title should be "Has ATS Been Overrun by Trolls" LOL.

I would like to think that the majority of the members on ATS would want their theories and opinions poked and prodded. Along with the "evidence" they display. If a person really wants to arrive at the truth, they should remain completely open-minded to someone that says "Hey, your theory, evidence, or idea is wrong and here's why I think that."

If however, the person is just your average troll/moron that posts a one or two liner saying "That's obviously a hoax, or you're lying, or Ha! The greys and reptilians are fighting for your children to harvest as meat!" Then to me, that's not a skeptic, that's simply a moron.

If theories are being debunked through use of actual evidence, it means that either the theory was totally wrong or it was only slightly wrong and needed to be modified. Any time that a theory is "debunked", it is merely calling into question the evidence used for the theory. You can claim that red spiders are mounting an attack against the world but until you have proof, there cannot be any reason to believe. A theory is only ever as strong as the base upon which it rests.

I think in the spirit of denying evidence we should all be sceptics by that definition.

On another note I believe scepticism and doubt should be used to etch away the fallacy from the truth at the core of any matter, especially conspiracy theories when on this site at least. I would say though that sceptics and believers should not argue and wage war but use their different approaches to debate and once again etch the fallacy from the truth.

Actually, i think it's been over-run by teenagers stalking me about on the internet.

Of course, that doesn't mean i think i'm right, but i do say it like it is.

note: I am speaking of true skeptics.... not ranting raving teens.

Chemtrails, reptilians, and the 2012 stuff is all well and good, but if it cannot be held to the same standard as any other post on ATS, one cannot expect it to be taken seriously.

The standard for conspiracy theories on ATS is high, but it is a rational high. Unlike the MSM and other outlets, we here, at least, are willing to listen to both sides of the debate and make conclusions based on logic and reason, not emotion or delusions.

The reason ATS has undergone a change is due to the 'conspiracy theorist' of old is evolving into a more rational being. Ten years ago one had to search in a library or an alternative book store only to find a book by David Icke spouting stuff about reptilian bloodlines, but now, we have a vast network of information (da internetz) and can find evidence to support less 'odd' theories. I am not saying that we didn't use the internet then.... but there is more info out there now than there has ever been.
It is almost a generational war between newer and older generations of conspiracy nuts.

What good would ATS be if everyone believed everything?

If you ask me, there aren't enough sceptics .....

yes its interesting isnt it that these skeptics ,who are so dismisive of anything of a sensitive nature would bother to spend so much time and effort debunking things they profess not to believe in. The answer is of course very simply that they have a vested interest in keeping the truth hidden ,even when they are not aware of it .
if the monkeys do inherit the earth it will not be for very long.

Im divided on alot of issues and topics on here.Skeptic til you show me proof.Im a believer in many as well. Why would one want, not saying your stating this either,to just have a board of believers? That wouldn't make for a interesting thread.

why would you assume that they believe EVERYTHING?

when there are so many secrets... NO ONE can have all the right answers.

but if some one comes and says
"the official 911 story is correct and there is no such thing as the N.W.O
and they also accept the official story about the war on terror.....

thats not a being a sceptic ... thats just being a de-bunker

I do not believe every conspiracy theory that I hear.....not even close.
but some have SO much evidence that I have no choice but to believe.
