I just finished burying a heavily coated 60-gallon steel tank I salvaged from the dump. I prepped it, treated it with phosphoric acid, primed it,
epoxy painted it, primed again, fiberglassed it, finished with gelcoat and then as an extra added measure, I put 1" of catelyzed foam on it. It's
two meters in the ground, with an extended fill tube. I just filled it today and added a stabilizer. Cost me US $310.00 to fill it. Gas here is
$5.15/gallon. That's an imperial gallon, but by the time you convert US to Caymanian dollars, it works out to $5.15/gallon. When used, I suspect
it will be only to power a chainsaw, or perhaps a generator to run power tools.
