Originally Cindy said that she would not make her tax returns public, but apparently she has succumbed to the pressures of the election.

Cindy McCain, who two weeks ago said she would never make her tax returns public, revealed Friday that she had a total income of more than $6 million in 2006.

The documents show that Mrs. McCain, who files her taxes separately from her husband, paid more than $1.7 million in federal income taxes _ a tax rate of more than 28 percent. She reported nearly $570,000 in itemized deductions.

The Arizona senator released his own tax return last month, reporting a total income of $405,409 in 2007 and $84,460 in federal income taxes.

Heiress to a large Arizona beer distributorship, Cindy McCain's worth has been estimated at more than $100 million.

Another interesting point to make is that if she is worth $100mil, how is she only earning about 6million a year?

She ought to stick it in a South African Long term medium yield account to get 10% interest!

Sorry to make such a mundane point, which has no relevance to anything whatsoever (unless Mrs McCain reads this site)!

I never looked at it that way, but you are 100% correct. A 6% return is not very good at all considering the amount in question.

I wonder if she needs a good investment adviser? I'll only charge her 500K..

She ain't a bad looking gal, she's got some money, AND she owns a liquor shop. I think there an old joke in there somewhere.

Too bad McCain doesn't practice politics as well as he married his new wife.

They feel our pain.

They know what it means to clip coupons to try and break even with the inflation of food prices.

They know what it means when filling up your tank requires 10 hours of wages at your job.

They KNOW what it's like to fear the loss of your job, when you have no savings to back you up with a loss of income.

They feel our pain.

And Barak and Hillary do too!

She's in good company. Six mill puts here in the Tom Brady, Danica Patrick crowd. The biggest question left is does John do the SI Swimsuit edition, or does she?
