Are we fooled by the company making Tamiflu ?
What should be used now for Avian Flu ?
Are you that dense? That's two people. There could well be a few hundred or thousand more who've died despite taking tamiflu, but without
comparative statistics, the number is meaningless as to whether or not it works.
Seriously. You have to know the proportion who die without it, and the proportion who die who've taken it.
Do you really think that vaccines are supposed to be absolutely 100% effective, or they don't work? Real life doesn't work like that. They just have
to be statistically very significantly more effective than not taking them. They aren't supposed to save every life, just save some lives, even with
vaccine related complications factored in.
Though there are flu strains resistant to it, there are also flu strains that *ARENT*, so, if it works for those, it still will prevent a
statistically significant number of cases of the flu.
That said, I usually only get the flu vaccine if my employer holds mandatory injections. Kind of crazy, that. It's within their rights, but it's a
bit disconcerting to be lined up and given a shot, when you aren't expecting it. At least they don't charge for it.
