I'm thinking of buying a Wii, however I have questions and know that you fine people here in BTS can help me out.

I think I know what to buy, but just ain't sure.

I was looking at a bundle package on Ebay today that sounded pretty good to me.

Console
5 Sports Games
Wii Play w/ Controller - 9 Wii play games.
Wireless Controller
2 - N Chuck Controllers

This is going for around $350.

However, when I start shopping online and looking at everything, I get confused.

What do I need if I want 2 people to be able to play the games at the same time?

Do I need to buy the controller recharging station?

Do I need to buy a cooling station for the console?

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Seems to be a normal price.

I bought mine last year.

for 249 I got a console, WII sports, one controller, one N-chuck.

for 49, I got the Wii play pacakge, which came with an adidtional controller (pretty good deal, I thought)

So for 300 , I am short one N-chuck..

I don't think you need a cooling station.

And one dirty little secret is that I recharge my alkaline batteries, in a little solar battery charger..I have a set of 12 batteries that I cycle through that charger.
I was surprised that it worked on alkalines..But it does..seems that you can get 10 to 12 recharges on them before throwing them away..I just set up the little charger by the window, and only allow small amounts of light to strike the surface.

I actually found the same charger that I use:

store.sundancesolar.com...

I think what I do is NOT recommended. These are standard alkalines..
not the rechargeable type..but it works..

Congrats Elevated!

You'll have lots of fun.
I'm not a gamer by any stretch of the imagination.
But we bought a carrying case, and we take it when we visit friends.
Even the creation of the MII characters feels like a game in itself.

My wife has become a Wii Pool Shark.
Myself, a champion Bowler..LOL..Came close to a perfect game. 289.

It's also great for watching Youtube vids.

Post your Wii experience, once it arrives.

That seems like a pretty good deal, although I'm a minimalist so I never bothered with getting a stand or other accessories. I love the Wii though. Now to spend more money on games!

I have 2 wii charging stations, it will reduce your cost in batteries for sure, plus their quite cheap. £10 each I paid.
2 controllers and nun-chunks. The extra one can cost abit.
Just make sure you get zelda twilight princess.

A bit of advice:
If you do own a ps3 or 360 as well, stay away from wii crossover games.

I own call of duty 3 on wii and 360 and the 360 version is far superior.
The wii is awsome for wii specific games but not so much when it comes to games on all consoles.

But if you only have a wii it should be fine.

Thanks for the tip, right now I only have the Wii.

On another note, we took it to my in-laws yesterday, they're both retired, so you can guess the ages....

They just called, they're so sore today from all the Wii"ing yesterday... :shk:

It was the wife's birthday this week, she wanted a Wii and has the dutiful hubby she got her wish..............oh and a Wii

PS1 thru to PS3 boy myself, but I will say after setting the Wii up and taking part in various Wii games, I will say I'm very impressed with the little fella.

A very good console indeed and I can understand why it has become such a huge hit, money well spent by me and one happy wife

BUT I still love my PS3

I don't care much for the boxing or tennis.

baseball is tough, I can't hit homruns... I'll have to keep trying on that one.
