1. Can the mind survive without food?
2. Does an unconscious mind survive human death?...If so, what happens to it next and where does it go next and will it be conscious again?
3. Where were minds before life on earth?...Did they exist yet?...If not, then what did minds evolve from since they are in common among mankind/animal kind?

Presuming the mind is a product of the function of the brain, the answers are:

1. until the brain shuts down from lack of nutrition, about a week or two, given water and air.

2. No. nor does a conscious mind.

3. no. Minds didn't evolve from anything. They're a product of the fact that a few branches of organism have found an evolutionary advantage in having a good amount of brainpower around, and so far the most extreme example is humankind. The mind is the name we give to the emergent behavious created by the brain. Many animals couldn't really be said to have a mind. Coral, for example. It's pretty dull for a critter. Jellyfish. many planktons.

Presuming the mind is an actual entity akin to the concept of a soul, the answers are:

1. yes

2. Shouldn't matter if the mind is unconscious. What happens after that depends.

3. possibly.
