WASHINGTON (AFP) - A US space probe sent to Mars to dig for signs of life is nearing the end of its nine-month voyage and should touch down on the Red Planet on schedule, NASA said Tuesday.

Wooo Hoooo! I just love this kind of news! Hope they give us at least a peek at the info they gather as they get it! I hate that we have to wait so long to hear of anything they find! I have been entranced by everything they do send back for us to view about Mars, it is thrilling to live in such a time!

I am really excited about this, but at the same time if the past is any indicator they could find a flying purple brontosaurus and report it as "...promising for the potential for having once possibly maybe hosted biological processes or something that may have been lifelike at some remote point in time..."
So....we'll see. But yeah. It's fantastic, too and I AM excited!

Oh yeah, it will be landing in one of the better "life-potential" zones. A northern band of permafrost. But I wish they would've gone to the southern polar region first.

This is a thread that should have a poll really. It would be interesting to see how many here believe nasa will tell us any sort of truth. They play on our ignorance, and they know the general public are stupid.

We will just have to wait and see.

That would be a great idea, but how dow you do a poll on here?

Shall we just say if we think they will tell us all their findings truthfully.

I dont think they will, they'll just tell us enough to keep us intersested, and feed our imagination.
