Pakistan warns against attack on Iran

^^ I never said like Shiite are in majority here however Pakistan is the 2nd largest Shiite country that's the fact.

When I used to sell cars I would plant seeds or ideas in advance because I knew that it was going to be an issue and it is easier to overcome that issue before it becomes and issue. I think that is really what is going on here. Pakistan knows that the US is going to attack..

The region cannot tolerate a new war, but in case of any military action occurring in the region, Pakistan will pursue a neutral policy, IRNA quoted Qureshi as addressing the Pakistani Senate Friday.

Basically they are selling the fact to you right now that Pakistan will be neutral when the war breaks out and you don't even notice it... The way it is worded they make it sounds like they are taking a hard stance against an attack but really they are saying when it happens we are not going to do anything but so we do not have any riots we are saying now that we are against the whole thing.. What this statement is really saying is that they know an attack is immenent... not that they are trying to lobby against an attack...

I think in some ways Iran is using their nuclear program in a concept that is meant to throw their muscle around in the region. It baffles the mind as to the large quantities of centrifuges that are being assembled. One can only theorize they will not limit that to 3000. Think bigger. Intelligence Agencies must be asking, what else beyond a rational Nuclear Power Plant Program are they pursing? Does anyone really think they are going to stop at using that technology for Nuclear Power? The natural way for man is to advance forward. Like any one of us, we are not satisfied unless we move forward and advance our technological hurdles. Iran, like any country has citizens that will take whatever measures to protect its very being. In the end, I am sure they want what we all want- a sense of security knowing they will not be attacked. The way to achieve that is to bring an end to state sponsored terrorism and embrace all religions and all people. The Government of Iran seems to have a hard time accepting that concept. The best we can hope for is that Good Men find a way to stop the madness that Evil Men are pushing forward. When the sun comes up tomorrow we should remember it is the actions of Good Men that keep that happening.

I visited Iran at the beginning of the gulf war (I am European American but always wanted to visit and thought the window of opportunity might be closing). Anyway I was surprised at the number of Iranians (well those that spoke English) that claimed they wanted the U.S. to take out their government.

I told them I doubted they would feel that way when the bombs started dropping. They all replied basically the same way, saying something about change and sacrifice. I still believe that their “overthrow the regime” ideas would change very quickly when the first pictures of dead/wounded Iranian kids hit their news channels.

Then again they may be able to handle those images better. After seeing the government sponsored music videos featuring bombs and wounded children (all real footage) I am quite surprised the Middle East doesn’t turn out more extremists. Americans can’t handle the sanitized images of the carnage this war as caused; if pictures of 8 year old American kids with their limbs blown off flooded the U.S. TV networks I think our populace would go absolutely nuts.

Yea I took the opportunity to visit America last year, and I was surprised how many Americans didn't know where America was on the map They asked me to ask Iran to invade them, they told me that we are sick of bush and we need someone to take him out

Well that's my imaginatory story about me visiting America, I have never done it, and it's very hard to believe my story don't you think?? Why in hell would you expect us to believe your imaginatory story??

The Shah was a US Puppet installed by the CIA after they overthrew Iran's democratically elected President Mossadegh.
There was no true democracy under the Shah. He had his own secret police who tortured and locked up tens of thousands of dissidents.
He pissed off religious conservatives by walking, talking and acting like an American and wanted to turn the entire nation into the little model of the US.
Fortunately the Iranians had some guts and overthrew him before he could accomplish his "Westernization" plan.

And you wonder why Iran hates the US? You gave them 28 years of hell under a sock puppet who took orders from Washington.

If you seriously believe once the dust settles after a US attack, everything will go smoothly in Iran I suppose your one of the folks who believed Iraq would be a democracy as well?

Do you see how well Iraq is doing?
Think how much worse a nation with +70 million people, a modern military and more sects and ethnic groups than Iraq would fare under US occupation.
Get it into that Republican head of yours that any action on Iran would ignite the Middle Eastern powderkeg.

If Israel can have a Nuclear Programme without discussion, in secret and not be subject to regulations or inspections from the IAEA, so can Iran.
Simple as that.

The double standards that exist within Nuclear Proliferation are ridiculous. Iran is not allowed the slightest possibility of a Nuclear Programme despite the fact they've yet to invade another country or threaten to, while Israel, who is in a constant state of war and threatens Nuclear Attack in certain circumstances is allowed Nukes without discussion.

You can't blame the Iranians for wanting to have Nuclear Weapons.
The US has hundreds of thousands of troops next door in both of it's neighbors, their democratically-elected President was overthrown for not licking US ass, they were invaded by Iraq with US backing and now Bush & Co. threaten a possible invasion?

Not a tenable position to be in.
Iran has been pushed into corner, of course they feel the need to deter any serious aggression with a nutjob like Bush at the wheel.

I was in Iran last night and they told me that they wanted the flag of Ireland as their national flag, and they wanted Hitler to be their nations Godfather, and they all wanted to be converted to be Jews. What a stupid statement to make about a country that has no love at all for the US. You seem to foget that it was not that long ago it wa the people of Iran who elected this government. Yes I am for real and yes I was told that several times. As I stated the people that relayed those feelings spoke ENGLISH which no doubt does make a difference, they are the minority there and many have lived in the states. Many of those that left after the Shah fell were the elite, they have not been happy with the current regime (which is why they left to begin with!). The government has eased travel restrictions for them which allows them to return home and even share their opinions with visiting Americans.

Are you impying that all Iranians love their government by an overwhelming majority and have no wish for change? This country is run as a democracy, yet quite a few people very much dislike our government, why on earth would you believe that Iranians are different?

I would think that the Pakistani public would have an outpouring of support for the Iranians and would expect to see people crossing the border to lend help. Much like Saudis are lending a hand in Iraq.

All the while, I'm sure Pakistan's government would remain "neutral" - I doubt that they would do much to discourage Pakistani help. And I would agree with that 100%. Though, I'd like to see Pakistan internationally denounce the attack against Iran, I think political ties (foreign aid) limit the amount to which Pakistan could object to such an attack, especially if it's in the name of the "War on Terror".

Yes i agree with you.

Pakistan would be in very difficult situation, The Government neither would be able to help Iran nor to Stop Shiite militia crossing the border to Iran.... it would be a great chaos in our country... President Mushraff has suggested that at many occasions !!!
