UFO floats past moon?

Me and my friend were walking home on friday evening.. I kept seeing blue flashing lights in the sky, my friend didn't see them, i thought it was lightening but it was only happening in certain parts of the sky, and the strange thing is there was no thunder. I didn't think anything of it.. but then we sat down on the wall and a dark black diagonal line began to move slowly past the moon.. it was bigger than the diameter of the moon.. we tried to find an explaination but couldn't think of anything. The line was so straight and precise.. It couldn't have been a cloud because the line would have distorted. A couple of other people in the area also saw these lights, i don't know if this has a connection but my main concern was a big black diagonal line moving past the moon, the line was so accurate, straight and clear. Does anyone have any ideas to what this might be? I really would like to find an explaination to settle our minds. Thank you.

lol.. i dunno, i haven't even seen the film, i need to though.. everyone's seen it but me >.< Is there a diagonal line in that then? O_o

Well its either a eclispe or one big ufo?But i think we would have maybe pick that up on radar?

Oh come on man, it is only a thick cloud of swamp gas floating by.
If not, it has to be Venus. That is a very busy planet that is all over
the night sky. Just ask anyone about that.

or it could be an parasitic worm making a dash for the other side of your eyeball at the exact moment you looked up at the moon. maybe you have two of these worms in each eye? maybe your friends and neighbors have this parasitic worm? or maybe you were all stoned on peyote and hallucinating. it could have been a giant kite, at night it would appear like a silhouette, especially against the moon.

basically, it's anything but a ufo. why? because ufo's don't exist... shhhh... don't tell anyone.

Unless someone else steps forward with hard evidence of the event occuring or some official body also asking the same question you have, we will never know.

At this moment you're left with a question that only you and your friend can answer.

What you saw is something neither of you may be able to explain (yet) so welcome to the club of millions of others who have seen things they can't explain.

Keep your eyes on the skies and you may just see more interesting things.. maybe you'll have a camera of some sort next time but I know how hard it is to get a good nighttime shot.

Yeah, my friend tried to get a picture, but by the time he pulled out his phone and set it up it was gone.. It only lasted about 5 seconds.. and it wouldn't have been clear anyway, especially in the night.. I know this may sound like bull# to a lot of u.. and im not askin u to believe us.. we were just curious as to what it may have been, that's all.. I'm not sure if it could have been a thick cloud of swamp gas.. this thing was perfectly straight.. Anyway i guess we'll never know, I'm gonna keep searching the skies for more weird things now.. im fascinated by it all.. i hope i encounter more sightings like this..

First off, welcome to ATS
Secondly, a diagonal line that is was bigger that the moon! is must have been ginormous if it far away enough not to be picked up on radar!
Thirdly, if it was closer (hence smaller) I would have thought, were it an aircraft on approach you would have heard some noise!

So, check local press for any further mention of it. Other than that, at this stage, keep looking up.
