Political parties are to blame for the ruin and downfall of the USA. We the people will never get ahead with such small and monetarily minded people running this beautiful country. Laws that need to get passed don't because the fighting that goes one between the two major parties. It is a constant dead end for anything that is important to the people. Whats good for the Dems is not good enough for the Reps. What's good for the Reps. is not good enough for the Dems. What's good for the people doesn't work for either. Why is this? Why do people vote for the party and not solely on the person? I actually have neighbors that will only vote for a Rep.. It wouldn't matter if he/she stated that as soon as he gained office he was going to start a war....they would still vote for him. Screw the parties people....vote vote vote for the right person.....don't let the party be a factor in your vote. Congress won't pass laws because of the majority in the party. Laws that need and should get passed. Who do I think is the right person? My answer is d: none of the above..They promote nothing we have not heard before. Will I vote? Of course I will as it is my right and duty but will choose solely on the person and a party will have no factor in my vote.

While I agree 100% with what you said, it doesn't mean a thing. As long as there are only 2 sides represented, thats all that the people will vote for. I try my beast to look at the candidates and their beliefs when making my decision. I consider myself to be conservative, but more than likely if Lieberman had gotten the nomination, I would have voted for him over Bush. Lately Bush's agenda's have pissed me off to no end. But it looks as though I'll be stuck with a choice of him or Kerry...to me thats no choice. The answer is simple, but if there where say 5 other candidates to choose from, My vote may change. The system at it stands is voting for the lesser of 2 evils, given the state of the world. Just once I would like to have my choice between 5-10 candidates, who hopefully one has my ideals!!!!!!!!!

There is too much special interest money putting people in office.....
We need more partys to give others a chance.

Allegiance to the country or to the corporations??

People would vote for other parties if they were substantial in size and could compete with the Dems and Repubs.

part of the problem is that other parties, and their candidates are not given the national voice that the media gives readily to Dems and Republicans.

george washington said, either when his term of office ended or when he was on his death bed, something along the lines of "beware of political parties." he knew they would ruin the country over 200 years ago.

That was from Washington's Farewell address.

I feel the biggest problem is the people of the U.S. being put in categorys. Being forced to either be a Democrat of a Republican based on how these parties treat your pre determined category that they fit you into is just sad. Such as one party pushing for minorities or the middle class so on and so on. When they realize we are individuals with individual needs then things will get better. We need more divirsity in the political parts. Two is not enough because I am really a fence straddler I would go either way on the party side depending on which I felt is best because I refuse to be put in a category.

Political parties are a significant problem, and it is growing.
