I just saw an interview of Ron Paul on CNN yesterday where he talked about his role in the Convention. He says the needs of his supporters are pretty
much not what McCain represents, so his delegates haven't lent their support. I expect they won't lend their support. I suspect an issue at the
convention, but I don't think the media will make a big deal out of it.
That's just the way it goes with Ron Paul. If the Democratic ticket was split and Paul ran as an Independent, i think he would get a lot of internet
support once again. I think he'd raise a lot of money and he would probably HAVE to be allowed in the debates given the sheer determination of his
supporters.
However, i think the media would treat him the same way they treated him throughout the primaries. They took him with a grain of salt, used him for
comedy relief or as a starting point for conversations like they did with Mike Gravel. He would be marginalized again to the point that his candidacy
would be ineffective.
It's sad, really. I still think he should run. You never know!
