As are I and many brethren who are joining now, that are young masons.

We are coming to freemasonry with a different outlook and different reason for joining as well. we are looking for a more spiritual way through freemasonry.

I am one of those baby boomer, For years I have searched out brothers who were on a quest for the spiritual/mystical aspects of Masonry. I felt lucky if I found one in 500. I hope very much that you are right. Masonry was once the proud inheritor of much of the teachings of the Mystey Schools. Let's hope Shyfloating is wrong and that those teachings are not lost, just misplaced.

There needs to be a lot of reform in freemasonry, and its happening. Trust me when I say this. All over California I have seen sooo many young people joining who are spiritually inclined and are looking for the right answers in the right place. For instance me. I did not join for charity. I will help when they do charitable acts and events. That’s because I want to support my lodge, but like I have said in previous posts, half of the lodges in So Cal are under the age of 40, and they are all smart and spiritual.

I will be going to Grand Lodge in the end of Sept. I wonder if it’s like that for the rest of the state. Also I would like to know if it’s the same in other states.

Not to be a skeptic or anything but this slow progression towards reform in freemasonry, might have to do with the whole 2012 thing IMHO. haha I know I don’t have any proof or anything, but think about what Freemasonry will be like in 4 years if our younger aged and also not only our younger aged but more spiritual members keeping joining and becoming apart of freemasonry, what it will be like.

My lodge in particular has been going to many events allover the county trying to spread the word of masonry. We have been setting up Information booths and tents at all the events and festivals we can. At the end of June we are going to the Scottish highland games and all the brethren are going to dress in kilts a.k.a skirts and man the freemason information booth. We are also not looking for quantity, but QUALITY.

man, i think freemason's behaviour are fascinating, here it is a conspiracy forum site, so i thought, every members were conspiratist interested in finding hidden truth behind conspiracies. some members are really different. they never explore, dig, or debate to put light over conspiracies, all they seems to want and their only goal seems to be to promote freemasonry or to protect freemasonry that seems to be the only reason they hang around. man it is like having a forum site on Greenpeace interest with whales hunters members trying to convince all the others that they do not arm the ecosystem balance.

man, i spoke to a freemason, 2 week ago, he was the father on my friend girlfriend he was at my friend's house. my friend told he was a freemason since thirty years. i had a car accident so the assurance rent me what they have left available a ‘’ 2008 Chrysler 300’’ , he told me that he once had a nice car but over the years he invest in, his self instead. i asked him what exactly and he told me he invest his economy in his self evolution, after i told him i knew he was a freemason, he told me that he is a 32 degree mason and that all his level to get degrees cost a lot of money additionally to the annual fee of 120.00$. i ask him how much he invest in freemasonry and he told me, it wa more than the Chrysler 300 value...

man, it make me think, that it is very similar to indoctrinated scientology members because of the level ( degrees) you have to pay for the attitude of the members are very similar to some around here who are always trying to deny all conspiracy around freemason.

take a look man and see the attitude of those 3 guys in the video defending their fraternal organisation it is very similar to those around here,

I can assure you .. it is not that way in my state.

Our population falls on average 6,500 members a year. We bring in over half our new members via one day classes. On average a lodge may keep one new member for the entire year that attends meetings.

Average age of active members are over 40 years old.

The next youngest in MY lodge is.. 34 I believe.

And when a new member is initiated he is quickly disenfranchised by Masonry because it is run in a way that is not meant for the younger generation. Not the teachings or anything like that, nothing wrong with the rituals or anything.. just.. the way it's run.

BM you are lucky to be in the lodge that you are in.. if all Masonic lodges operated like that true reform could happen, but the only reforms by young brothers that I have seen presented before the Grand Lodge where shot down by the assembly.

There is not a lot of activity because it to many places it is an old mans club, old and outdated. If the Grand Lodge of Ohio gets it's way and we implement an electronic storage of active members, our numbers would fall even faster as members who are no longer on the books would be stripped away.

Anyways, I to could go on a Masonic rant for hours, so I will save it.

And to be a 32nd degree cost $125 here. They are raising it next year because the ring you get on the 14th alone is $155. Sooo...

He would be, in the definition provided in the Terms & Conditions of this site, spamming. I guest since freight tomsen has done it so much over the last few days without any reprocussions from the mods, Road Warrior must have thought it was OK.

Not to mention the fact that there's one small initiation fee to jump all the way from 4° to 32° (which happens in 1 to 4 days, not 10 to 30 years), and just annual dues after that, but that too would go against the lies freight has been telling about progression through the degrees.
