I was surprised, concealed carry class.

I took the first part of the Okla. concealed carry program, the class work and the range test. I was surprised by the number of people that were there to take the class, 45+ ( it I counted right) Mostly men but there were 10 women there.

The instructor was surprised too, he wasn't expecting that number. I guess more and more people are expecting trouble.

Good class and everyone passed, even the girls.

What are the regulations on it and do they question you as to why you want to carry a concealed?

Can you carry it when you leave the state?

Do you have to place it in sight at any time like while in your vehicle?

What kind of people showed up for the test?

Do you bring your own gun and do you have to show that it is registered at the time?

What are the exemptions of carrying a concealed?

Wow up here in Minnesota we had a class of 5 or so and the instructor said that was average sized. Classes down there are massive and the instructor must be raking in the big bucks

Just here in one small section of my state, they run classes 3 times a week and the class size is aways 10 or more...

Trouble brewing or not, it is always a good idea for good, honest people to be able to protect themselves...

Even the girls? Wow, good thing I know you're joking; around this neck of the woods the girls can out shoot the boys most of the time. I've been thinking about getting a permit although I haven't yet. Maybe it's time.

Alot more crime would be reduced that way for sure. If the passengers on 911 had been packing, non of that nonsense would have happened. Its not like just anyone can carry. You have to be trained and qualified. I know that there are sociopaths that would slip through the cracks, but the number of good citizens surely out number the bad.

I am all for teachers having the option to carry, as they are the first line of defence for the children. I realize there again they could go postal and shoot up the classrooms too, but again, it would save lots of lives in the long run.

I have to confess, I'm a bad boy. I've been carrying without a ccw for a long time. Reason, The Constitution of the United States. A ccw just gives me more safety if I had to use a firearm. I have no intentions of using it, I also use a seat belt and have no reason to have a car wreck.

I can't carry concealed until the OSBI does a back ground check along with the local sheriff dept. Gotta be fingerprinted. I really hate this. Gotta send 'em money. Hate that too. Paper work, I really X 3 hate this!

Class was easy, the shooting is easy if you do shoot, 50 rounds total. In Okla. there are three types of handguns that you may carry. Derringer, revolver and semi-auto. If the test is taken with a semi-auto you can carry all three.

They don't ask your reason for wanting a cc license.

If you have a cc license it must be concealed even in a vehicle and you must tell a police officer that you have one on you if you are stopped.

All types of folks came, business to farmer/ranchers. About 6 were from the counties on either side of this county.

I took my Glock 35, the instructor had a 22 semi-auto just pay him for the ammo. We don't register guns in the Great State of Oklahoma.

Can't carry into a public school, you may drop off a child in the parking lot just keep moving. No carry in a county, state or fed. building. No carry where alcohol is sold as their primary form of business. We all took that as bars and not restaurants. You may carry on a college/university campus if given permission by the President.

Hope that answer your questions, if you have any more just ask. BTW every state will be different. Oh yeah, I can carry in other states that honor Okla's license.

60 $ a person. I think folks around here are thinking trouble.

The instructor will have another one in the fall, I'll try to get my assistant farm manager in that one and we will see how big it is. I'll have to work with him on his gun handling. He can damn sure shoot a rifle!

Please let me know just what part of the woods your at, so I can stay the hell out of there.

At one time I shot USPSA and there was a woman that came to the matches and I told her if she get rid of that 1911 and get a Glock she could beat me.

Absolutely correct, we must be able to protect ourself.

The reason I gave the "Trouble" in my statement is that I live in a county of 23 thousand with a land area on 2049 sq miles. I was expecting 20 people at most.
