Will plans to artificially cool our planet alert our E.T. neighbours

I was shutting down my Wii yesterday when I saw a headline from the news channel on the main Wii menu which read Artificial cooling of planet I went into the news channel to read about it but I couldn't find it anywhere. Did anyone else see it? I believe this could be very detramental to us, especially by experimenting with our primative technology something that is well beyond our capababilities.

I wonder if E.T would intervene if we were to start messing around with their jewel?
