NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (CNN) — President Bush used a meeting with the leaders of Mexico and Canada on Monday to hammer Democrats for opposing a free trade deal between the United States and Colombia, saying that blocking the deal is “bad for American workers and bad for our security.”

I was watching CNN this evening and they were talking about how the president is going against Congress's wishes. How come he keeps getting away with this? On CNN they were saying that (they were speculating) Bush was not just talking about trade with Colombia, since Canada and Mexico really would not be affected in the first place, but he was trying to talk canada and mexico into something else. What do you all think about this?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
