we get games months after they are released in the US and japan
we dont get the 80GB ps3 and other bundle packs

this goes with other games services

why is it in the UK and europe we get second best?

I agree with what your syaing.

Possibly part of the reason is because alot of the games are developed in US and Japan, Such a large amount of gamers in those countries also maybe?

Really does suck thou, sick fed up of releases not coming out over here (UK) months after others.

Yes, i never understood how shipping the PS3 to the Uk makes it cost about £100 more thanin the Us etc. That said with PC games they don't seem too bad, IIRC Crysis came relatively soon after worldwide release and Dawn of War Soulstorm came out two days after in the US, who got it a day after Australia. But people can more easily bit Torrent games for the PC, so that may give them an incentive to get it here.

Yeh I see the prices on UK websites. It's completely absurd. Some video cards cost $100 in the U.S. and 100 Pounds in UK. It just isn't balanced, maybe there's some law which places a lot of taxes on imports?

Maybe you guys should get someone to order the item in America and mail it to you
.

let me guess, this is due to the stupid system of "We sell this expensive and loads of people buy it, so lets make it more expensive so we get more money" ignoring making it cheaper (ie, what it's actual worth is) and therefore making more money from more sales.

I really hate that system.

Aussies get screwed over just the same and I can only wonder "why?!"

I am living the "high life" for the moment, getting my consoles (I have a PS3, 360 and a WII) and games cheap while am living on a US military base, IN Japan (hehe) - for now - but on a recent trip home, a month ago, I saw GTA IV out on sale already

... the price tag ? ... $120.00

wtf ?

And come time when my husband and I return to Australia to live, well right now I am unsure as to what we will do, we're both big gamers.
At this point we are discussing just investing in high-voltage transformers and adapters but I'm not sure if this would be the right thing to do - sell them all and just purchase them again in Aus at a higher price ? - or pay the costs associated with converting our consoles and running them (and buying games a whole lot cheaper online in the US than in Aus) ... ????

WHY ?
I constantly wonder ...
