I just saw an add on Above Top Secret linking to chinese mail order brides.

Chnlove.com

I thought...

This seems a little strange to me that ATS would have such an ad. Then I started to think It's a good target group.

I began pondering that(the main reason this is in skunk works) maybe the chinese are using mail order brides to get key female operatives into the country for some kind of offensive. I remember reading a thread about shipments being waved through the mexican border and chinese ammunition showing up in the southwest. Possibly suggesting stockpiling.
Could there be a connection?

Is ATS part of a Sex trading ring and sex slave ring using Chinese girls?

Me thinks not.

If you'll notice, the ad was brought to ATS by GoogleAds, not ATS. I, personally think that clears it up, don't you?

Don't you?

yea.. I'd ask Google on that one.. not ATS since Google signed on with DHS to assist them to keep the spy ring running at all costs.

I can see it now....one quite evening, all seems normal, a quite dinner in a normal American home in front of the T.V....hey honey whats for dinner?...meanwhile the mail order bride poisons the egg drop soup...then she's off to form up with the other sleepers and start their reign of tyranny!

insidious!!!

well not really. I never said "illegal." I said "legal" I did not mention anything to do with the chinese sex slave trade. I am refering to this website as legal sex trade because it's a website that finds "clients" wives.
And we all know wives don't just bake cookies and clean the house. The very idea that you can look at a profile of someone and marry them seems below ATS's standards. I expect this slime from google. I do not know if ATS can pick adds or not? But I do feel this is an issue that needs to be addressed.

I wanted to explore the possibilities that these brides could be operatives.
what kind of checks do the go through?

If I was in power this is the kind of plan I would think of. Especially now with a lot of our military overseas. Maybe use a War to bring on the North American Union?

I was taken aback by the add for asian brides also. But then I figured it might be a good thing for the guys on ATS that live in their parents basements.

Everybody needs the opportunity to get married and be miserable like so many of us already have.

Thankfully I am no longer married and will cut my throat before I willingly marry again.

While your morals are appreciated, they are not the same views of that a lot of others hold. I see no problem is someone wants to get a "mail order bride", it is not as easy as just buying a woman online, there has to be consent on both sides and a lot of times it takes up to a year of conversing with the bride to be to build up a relationship (I know a few mail order brides at my work). Most of these relationships are quite strong and healthy. If what a husband and wife do behind closed doors bothers you then don't think about it.

You sound like the spokesperson for chnlove.
It just seems that these girls are doing this for reasons other than trying to find someone compatible from a different country. For example, why not join an International dating site. Im pretty sure there out there. The whole marriage part implies gaining a certain legal status in the country of there choice. It's almost if there marrying the country! This is ethically borderline. I just kinda think it's a strange ad to have on ATS.

(I know a few mail order brides at my work)

May I ask where you work?

How can you tell how strong and healthy these relationships are?
Your last sentence is totaly putting words in my mouth.
Believe me, what two consenting adults do behind closed doors does not bother me the least. The freakier the better i'd say!

I just want to know how many of you guys clicked on the banner/link.

And really.........what is so wrong with meeting people on line? Many people meet online and develop REAL realtionships.

It is no different then Match.com or some other dating service.

EHarmony or whatever that site is....tries to hook people up hoping they will get married....

I dont see the big deal really.

Is this thread an advertisement in and of itself?

No, seriously... I remember when Russian mail order brides were the "big deal", and the same question applied. Now there are hundreds of Russian, Ukranian, and wherever you like your bride to be from web sites.

Read into the Chinese mail order bride ad all you like. Google did their homework.

I'm quite suprised that somebody has yet to point out that our demographic data (which we gladly supplied, as part of our joining this site) was collected and used for profit.

Come on folks, this is a conspiracy site.

PS. Shouldn't this thread be in the "BOARD BUSINESS" forum???

I work for an insurance company and the mail order brides are part of our cleaning staff and secretaries. While I can't answer for all of the mail order brides a lot of them want the freedom other countries afford them, most of the countries they come from are either oppressed for one reason or another, or the vast majority of the population is poor, maybe some of them just like american / european men, hehe maybe some of them are covert special operatives (but i don't think so) what benefit would they get by wedding an insurance agent or a computer nerd who plays everquest by day and surfs ATS by night?

Agreed. I cant post a curse word but I can import a wife. So much for "family-friendly."

I had been meaning to post a thread about how my CA parental controls block almost everypage on ATS. I find this interesting.

Mark Roazhar: I wish to complain about this Chinese Mail order bride that I purchased not more than half an hour ago, from this very forum.
ATS Mod: Oh, yes the bride from Guangdong province, what about her?
Mark Roazhar: I'll tell you what's wrong with her, my lad. She's dead, that's what's wrong with 'er!
ATS Mod: No, no, 'she's uh,...she's resting

...and the whole script unfolds

Could have been worse I suppose, and it was mail order aliens

Seeing that there's no real conspiracy here, and that the Google ads has been explained, we're closing the thread down.

Any complaints or comments about distasteful ads can go to Worst Ads Ever! (SkepticOverlord's Ad Hitlist).

Thanks.
