Popular bands like Linkin Park build lists through contests like this one... www.bandbuilder.com...

I'm just wondering if anyone knows who gets access to these lists and what they do with the info.

It seems that alot of those contests are used to gather valid email addresses which can be either sold or used later to send spam.

I would only give a hotmail addres or similar disposable one. Putting your details on the net only serves to make you a target.

I woldn't be at all surprised.
I no longer vote in any polls; at the very least it is spyware/adware.
