OK, this is more of a DM front page pick 4 at random to create their front page for the next decade.......

Picture of Diana and some wild speculative nonsense about her death (outside shot at it being vaguely connected to a 'Wills' or Harry story).

House Prices to crash/sky-rocket

Labour to eat your first born/create an economic depression next week

British Muslims to eat your 1st born/create a UK Islamic republic by next week

White middle class people, the most persecuted & struggling group in the whole world

Asylum seekers to eat your etc etc

Obligatory health scare (usually confined to top banner)

Some old tat free in the top banner

What? Has this forum allowed to become little more than an poncey left-wing love-in? I note there's no mention of the tiresome daily issues raised by the Guardian!

For example...

We must all get on in this multi-cultural society! No we don't. We need to encourage immigrants to integrate into our way of life. Quietly. Or don't come.

Gordon Browns' economic prudence has set us in good stead for the coming economic crunch! No it hasn't. I paid 114.9 pence at the pumps for a litre of diesel yesterday. I paid 120 pence for a loaf yesterday. Inflation is rising sharply (of course the current - but not for long - Labour government use CPI as an inflation indicator and not RPI) and all our great socialist leader can do is tax us more!

And then there's the weekly bash in the Guardian of the 'right-wing bigots' and 'middle-class moaners' who buy the Mail. Have the junkie-loving socialists ever stopped to think for one moment that the reason that the middle classes feel aggreived about their lot in life is because they actually ARE the ones funding society? I challenge anybody to demonstrate that the middle earners do not pay a greater share of their salary than the upper or under classes.

Oh, then there's the pro-european stance. We must all spunk another enormous wad of cash at yet another ill-concieved socialist agenda.

Yep, the Daily Mail aint perfect... But neither is the drivel flowing from the liberals and comm... ahem... socialists.

Actually boyg I thought this was just a light-hearted bit of fun poked at one of our most ridiculously biased 'news'papers.

You seem to have taken it as cue for a rant.
But I hope you're feeling better after that little bile-burp.

As for 'left-wing love-in'?

Do you ever even read these forums?

They are regularly filled with the same old predictable same old such as you have just trotted out here.

I think the term 'MOPE' applies well to many of the DM-type right-wing middle class whingers.

'Most oppressed people ever'.......in their own minds.

Socialist European Union forces immigrants to convert to Islam while making house prices fall due to health and safety Nazi's destroying British Democracy

This is all good. Mine this week was to do with football, so not very interesting.

But keep it up!

The Sun, Mirror and especially the "Sport" group is equally viable.

Hmmm let's see.

Touchy feely initiative cuts crime in inner cities (which wasn't that bad anyway as it was just an invention of the rabid middle class right wing fascist media)

Illegal Immigrants contribute more to society than feckless, white. indigenous, right wing, middle classes.

Scientific study proves middle class people are delusional and foam at the mouths.

Scientific study proves superior brain power and reasoning skills of rich left wing social commentators in gated communities in Hampstead.

UK human rights shame. Welfare scrounger denied free car to get to the signing on office.

....Oh the sorry the Daily Mail....I thught this was the Guardian thread.

But that's just it Cantwara, you don't get the same guaranteed constant exaggerated & negative partisan idiocy from the The Guardian or The Mirror.

They don't hold a candle to the likes of The Daily Express, Daily Mail or The Sun.

There's no Guardian/Mirror equivalent commentators to the barking loons like Richard Littlejohn, Simon Heffer, Peter Hitchins, Melanie Phillips or Ann Lesley.

Nor will you be seeing the ridiculous superficial stuff (as has been the case this week) like the so-called 'TaxPayers Alliance' press releases being dressed up as front page factual headlines in The Mirror or The Guardian.

Daily Express...maybe, the Sun, don't know don't read it but the Mail right wing yeah but Bias right wing...naaaa. I've read it long enough to know it at least strives to put a balanced point of veiw across on many issues just because that point of veiw clashes with other peoples doesn't make it the anti christ and this fun thread which got all serious when the boot was on the other foot is illustrating nicely that blanket/semi hysterical generalisations are not the preserve of the conservative right.

Sorry but I really don't get what you mean by this.

Who got "all serious", where?

I have read some of Peter Hitchins' articles, particularly his travels round political hotspots, and I would say he is a self confessed (do you have to confess to not being a liberal?) right-winger. He is also a very intelligent, articulate and religious man. His writings can, at times, verge on being brilliant. He has a point of view that some people may not agree with, but 2.3 million readers seem to want to peruse his 'rantings' on a regular basis.

My question is...

Are most of them nasty, right-wing, middle class, bigoted, racist, anti-european, anti-immigration, religious nuts?

Answer, NO!

The vast majority of them are just normal everyday people who have concerns about issues surrounding immigration, crime, fundamentalism, welfare and the economy and who's concerns arent addressed or eased by ex cathedra pronouncements from self appointed social commentators of the neo liberal (as opposed to just liberal) stripe.

In some quarters though, even raising objections is classed as rabid right wing knee jerk bigotry or else illicites at best a patronising lecture calling into question the complainents intellect.

If Littlejohn (never had him down as loony, just a sarcastic bugger) Hitchens and Leslie have axes to grind it's only because the left have given them ample opportunity to exploit it.

Remember most of us aren't strictly right or left but a mixture of the two and aren't best served by those who adhere too strictly to either ideology.

i hate the Daily Mail, i hate when someone links to it and i end up reading all the "celeb" "news"....i can't help myself.

The other day they had a story about some webpage which was directed at young girls and they were being all self-righteous and indignant at the thought that this website was making young girls think that their only goals should be to be perfect looking with perfect bodies.

On the same page down the side, there were stories about:

Janet Jackson looking thin after previously looking "bulky"

Amy Winehouse and the state of her skin

Lara Flynn Boyle looking droopy and bloated

Jennifer Lopez looking great after losing her baby weight.

Go figure....i guess irony doesn't feature much in the life of a Daily Mail editor
