What would you do??

Somebody on another thread metioned "posting for pay" alleged disinfo agents who troll message boards and forums like this to not so much disrupt but steer the consensus or attempt to debunk particular conspiracy theories and alternative discussions for an "employer", maybe a corporate entity, the gummint, oh, well those two are interchangeable...but you know what I'm getting at. I have no proof these people exist-maybe some of you do-if so, I would be interested to hear about that, but the real reason I posted this is because I was wondering if I was approached by an entity, say some corporation that was in a field I had worked in for example, and they said they wanted me to be a troll, poster for pay and I would receive, hm...1k per month to spend 2hrs trolling 5 days a week-which is much less time than I spend on the internets anyway-What would I do??

The truth is I couldn't say off the bat, I'd consider it. Shame on me.

Now the thing is the employer would have you disseminate false information, you would be lying, not just advocating or sugarcoating.

Soooo, what would you do??

Thats a fair enough question except for one point.....what would the employer gain from lying to the ATS community? Pretty much nothing. I couldnt see anyone wasting their time and effort trying to get someone to be a troll here. I could see it happening in a large company or maybe for a media outlet but here, well I dont think so.

Hypothetically speaking though if I was offered money I probably wouldn't do it for the sake of it being morally wrong.

If he or she were a govt. propagandist, I would say there are plenty of topics on this site to skew and disrupt-if they are rational enough, they might even sway opinion from what is obviously a topic that needs more investigation/discussion ...the Eliot Spitzer debacle is a pretty good example...the gov. of NY gets caught using an escort service 3 weeks after tearing bushco a new one in print over the subprime mortgage disaster, now a guy or gal working for the RNC might just hop on ol ATS and divert the attention from bushco crimes to Spitzer's unlucky exposure. Most of the posters on the threads about that were inconceivably critical of Spitzer because he used an escort service, OH MY!! Meanwhile Busco has destroyed the economy and tens of thousands have lost their homes, but oh well Spitzer had sex!! outside his marriage!!

I am not accusing anyone of being trolls on those threads BTW, just saying...
