TSA fraud

Here is what the United States has become.

My grandmother, god bless her soul, left out at the airport the other day to see my uncle in Seattle. She is around 90 some years old, frail, and this will probably be her last year with us. She cannot walk without the assistance of a walker or cane.

I asked my mother, who escorted her to the airport, if the security goons interrogated her and wanded her for weapons of mass destruction, to which she replied (paraphrasing):

"Yes, I was so upset, they treated her like a criminal"

I then asked why the scrutiny over and old woman and she said because her drivers license had one minor discrepancy over some other document about her information.

Here a person is presented, and her government documents don't match up to a "T" and they treat her as if she was an able bodied terrorist????

Why can't they look at a person as obviously who they are?

This is the highest order of BS I have ever seen.

This happend to my friends 76 year old mother a couple of years ago, also. She had to take her shoes off to be searched in addition to what you described, and was beside herself that she hadn't had a pedicure lately.

She said they pulled her out of the line randomly, though. I guess to be fair they have to search a wide assortment of people.

I do agree with what you are saying though, unless they have a "tip" to be on the lookout for blue haired old ladies.

Yeah, you're right. Old people and children could NEVER be terrorists! Oh wait, what about the teddy bears they caught in Florida with knives hidden in them? One of those was being carried by a 3 year old. Ok, so old people could NEVER be a terrorist.....Oh wait! I forgot about the 70 year old we caught with a cane that had a sword blade in it. But hey, let's search everyone but our families because we know that OUR family would never be a terrorist!
