Did the Prophet Muhammed predict Osama Bin Laden ?

The Sufis are those Muslims who seek an intimate and close relationship with God.

They take issue with the Wahhabi sect, a modern fundamentalist sect who are the dominant force in Saudi Arabia.

According to them The Wahhabis do not represent the true face of Islam
but are a perversion of it. Judging by the above quotations,it would appear that this opinion is in accordance with the Prophet's teachings.

As Wahabbi-ism is virtually all that we in the West know of Islam,it appears to me that we are being fed a perverted picture of what Islam really represents.

Fot this reason I have put this post in the Religious Conspiracies section.

Some may reason that we are also being fed a perverted version of what Christianity really is and by the same Christians who are closely allied to the Wahhabis of Saudi.

I would be interested to hear opinions from Muslims, Christians and agnostics alike.

Sure is interesting, although most dont take OBL seriously, and think he is already dead, but a useful propaganda tool to scare the masses.
I wonder if Jesus made a similar prophecy?

Thanks for your reply. The quotations could be taken as referring to one actual man or Wahhabi-ism personified. Like you I wonder if OBL is still alive and whether he was mainly a propaganda tool in any event.

It is what he represents which would seem to be the danger.

I don't know if Jesus made any similar prophecies. perhaps someone who knows their Bible inside out could enlighten us.

The Book of Revelations (written by John) is full of apparent prophecies.

To get into the meaning of Revelations would be a whole new thread.
Indeed there are several I have seen on ATS, dedicated to this already.

Also the Old Testament is full of prophecies, perhaps some of them might refer to these things.?

Interesting. Not so much about predicting bin laden but predicting that there would be a group in that region who would only speak the law but would not understand islam, because it is only in their throats that they are muslim.

It does say "A man will come out of Wadi Abu Hanifah" this could be taken to mean OBL ,or the founder of Wahhabi-ism, or Wahhabi-ism personified.

But yes I agree it does seem to refer to people who do not practice what they preach.

I tried to find out if OBL was actually born in Wadi Abu Hanifah but without success

The Bible - and Jesus - do predict Mohammed, actually.

John 16:7-14 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. This could most certainly be taken as referring to Mohammed as the Moslems acknowledge Jesus as a prophet, and various Christian countries converted in part or in whole to Islam,eg.Egypt and Morocco.

On the same subject it is worth noting that the Buddha predicted the coming of Jesus.

Buddha stated that the next Buddha after him would come 566 Million years after Buddha's death.

Very often in religious and esoteric writings where numbers are mentioned the real number meant is either a fraction or multiple of the one mentioned.

The number 566 Million is meaningless in human terms if it refers to years.
We have only been around for between one and one half million years.

So divide by a million and we are left with 566 years. It is generally thought that Buddha died in 564 B.C. !

It makes you wonder who the three wise men from the East were. They were clearly expecting Jesus's arrival. Were they Buddhists I wonder?

This is perhaps not so strange when you recall that Muslims believe that the Prophet Mohammed is the LAST Prophet before the Day of Judgement.

So whereas previous prophets could predict the next one, there are no more prophets after Mohammed before the Day of Judgement (?read end of the Fourth Creation whwn the Mayan Calendar ends in 2011) so there are no more prophets for him to predict.

Instead he predicts the Day of Judgement itself.

I'm starting to find this ever so slightly scary!

i very much doubt it, even if the neocons try and blame him for "destroying the tables/WTT of money lenders". i think it will be someone not yet noticed.

interestingly, in some indian book it says that "whenever darkness prevails, i will send one to bring them into the light" or something like that.

it is supposed to occur roughly every 500 years. either they're late or its going to get a lot darker.

i'd back the latter.

thank you for bringing this out. i had heard of this sunnah, but i never thought it was B Laden. i assumed it meant the Saudi kings.

i myself am Sufi, and i agree that Wahhabism is an affront to God. if there is one thing Islam is not, its this backwards and sadistic and damn near blasphemous concept of Wahhabism.

Good verse Walking Fox, not many know what it refers to.
