Actually we do have a lot of alternate fuel sources.
Cooking oil can run in almost any diesel engine even without modifications.(Although minor mods are required in cold climates).
Unfortunately some government actually discouraged people from using cooking oil as fuels and charged them with tax evasion(because they did not pay
fuel tax on the cooking oil ).
We will have to develop alternate power sources but till then cooking oil and bio fuels are the only answer.
Wven if we have fossil fuel reserves on earth for 60-70 years it will become too expensive for ordinary people to purchase in 20-25 years and that is
if we are lucky otherwise i think fuel will become too expensive in the next 15 years or so.
Worst case situation just pour vodka in your tank
