when is the next season of 4400 going to air?
its been ages and i want to see what happens after the 4400 and the new
infected people act as they have the whole city now.

a big leap from the small paradise they created.

i actually heard somewhere that it wasn't coming back. might want to look into that though. at best i think this will be its last season. it's a show that runs in the summer so don't expect it quite yet.

From the USA messageboards

To all the wonderful fans of The 4400

It's with great sadness that I pass along to you the information I've just received -- The 4400 has been cancelled. We've had a great time bringing you this story and submersing you in the lives of all these incredible characters. Thank you especially to the folks on the board here whose tireless devotion to the show is nothing short of remarkable. Shout out to Bubba, by the way! I love your posts, man.

I just spoke to Joel and we had a great talk about what we all accomplished and how much we'll miss our family that is our crew and our cast... and our fans. But at least we got to go out with a bang! I had an awesome time directing the last episode. I think I got to make almost every single cast member cry (on camera). How much fun was that?!

So let me raise my metaphorical glass to you all and thank you for being so loyal and so dedicated. I wish we could go on forever, but the party has come to an end. Be well and on behalf of all of us at The 4400 -- thank you, it's been a pleasure.

The shows fans are apparently doing a Jerichoesque protest.

4400 and Dead Zone were both axed at the same time. Dead Zone definitely felt like it had run its course, and 4400 didn't really seem very focused. Perhaps because of the large gaps between short seasons.

Oh, give me a break. I just found out five minutes ago that Jericho was cancelled...

Who the hell decides to cancel something like the 4400 or Jericho when I have over 100 channels and am never watching more than one or two shows at a time. These people in charge of the networks need to stand up and take notice.

Though maybe I should blame the tens of millions of sheeple who are watching trash like Survivor 9000 or yet-another-sitcom-about-nothing.

When I'm an old man, I think TV is going to be just like in the movie Idiocracy, with 50% of the screen covered in permanent advertisements, and the top-rated shows being a naked man farting for 2 hours and a naked woman cutting a steak.

The 4400 had sort of an ending but i think could have gone on for at least 1 more season.
The writers strike didn't help matters i don't think either,it was a good series.
I also think heroes is a poor mans 4400,the 4400 was a better written show that i find easier to watch than heroes

I like both the 4400 and Heroes, but I think that Heroes copied to a certain degree from the 4400, and most fans of Heroes don't know because they haven't heard of the 4400. I also found the explanation of the 4400's abilities to make much more sense than the one in Heroes. The 4400 at least has a pseudo-scientific basis for the powers, even if it is "advanced technology from the future". In Heroes, the powers are more like something out of a fantasy series, which doesn't really fit in a modern-day setting.

In previous years, the 4400 has been on in the summer months (June-August) and only 13 episodes. I hope they bring it back again. I thought it was doing really well, and won awards and stuff, so cancelling it doesn't really make sense.
