It's suppose to look like a regular fighter jet cuz of a different shade of gray. The black paint makes it stick out during the day.

Gray makes a lot of sense to me. Go with the tried and true.

I thought the camo pattern on the "Have Blue" prototype was pretty nifty.

why would you need ground camo on an airplane?? that just doesnt make sence.

Although visual camouflage is less and less relevant these days, you would have ground camo on the upper surfaces of the aircraft and a neutral or sky color on the bottom. This assumes that the aircraft is intended to fly missions during the day. At night, obviously, all black is the popular choice.

using light gray or blue on the bottom surfaces of an aircraft to make it less visible from the ground, and varying earth tones or sea tones on the upper surfaces to allow it to blend in when seen from above. Simple black best cloaked an airplane at night.

For DaRAGE and masterofpuppets, camoflage has to
be thought about more. In the Air Warfare environment,
everything you do to conceal yourself is important.
If the top of your craft matches the color of the terrain
below you, those above you are disadvantaged. The
same reasoning is used for painting the bottom of
your craft a sky blue. And the secondary purpose of
camo is to break up your visual outline into something
the human brain has trouble resolving via pattern
recognition.
