Had to hire a new employee today and in Florida we have to notify the State when we do a new hire. Thats another story, why does the State need to know?

However, take a look at their site across the middle of the page

"Many of your employees may be called to active military duty in the coming weeks"

Link

Are we expecting another Cuban Missile Crisis here in Florida?

The message was not there last week when we had another new hire.

Should I start packing?

Gulp!!!!!

Yes, I go that page to Log On to file the reports.

I am in charge of approx 150 employees with an average of 5 New Hires a month so I go to the site frequently but I have never seen that message before.

I think it all has to do with the "changing of the guard" down in Cuba. The Florida National Guard may do exercises/maneuvers more for symbolic reasons than anything else, to show Raul we haven't gone soft.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing

I typed in "Many of your employees may be called to active military duty in the coming weeks" in google and saw a few other states reporting the same thing on their sites. Places like ohio

Shelter in place.

I'm listening to that Phillip Shceinder guy, wow. He seems credible. And knowledgeable.

Diligent eyes of the OP noticed it ASAP... But I am not sure it is a clear sign of coming action.
DocMoreau

I did the same and found this:
www.hrhero.com...

Coming Wednesday, February 27, 2008
11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern
10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Central
9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Mountain
8:00 to 9:30 a.m. Pacific

For the first time since it was enacted in 1993, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) has been expanded to give employees substantial new leave rights. These amendments, providing leave for employees with family members in the Armed Forces, which was signed by President Bush on January 28, creates two new categories of FMLA leave for the relatives of military personnel. All employers that are subject to the FMLA’s requirements (those that have at least 50 employees) need to be aware of the new requirements and how to comply.

Nevermind......
Thanks DocMoreau, that most likely explains it......
Other than, why is Bush now strengthening FMLA for military purposes??
Idea=Good Timing=Bad&??? I wish 01_20_09 would have been yesterday.

It looks to be a way of notifying employers of those that are in the national guard that may need to be used soon, and to be prepared for that situation, why all new employees would have to registered though is a bit alarming.

Yeah, let the MODS deduct points, Telly Tellerton. This isn't the Sean Hannity forum. I was merely trying to exceed my one sentence because MODS here get testy with that kind of stuff. And the Phillip Schiender guy relates. It's all connected: we will all soon the fruits of their labor (meaning the crazies building these underground bases so they can take over the world). Besides, I haven't derailed any threads. I respect this place. So says Plucky!

On second thought, I won't derail the thread.

Interesting that you came here to welcome others to your thread, I had just posted in your thread asking about this one and feeling like there could be a connection between the two.

Do you see any connections to the power outages today and your OP?
Have you also like others noted an increase in fighter Jets in the past 24-48 hours?

I see you have a link to the Global Incident Map too.

It's a bit strange that there is no highlight of the power outage in Florida. They usually post before any mainstream media on most if not all stories. Hmmm
