This sounds like an LDS teaching Ashley
I really don't think so.
'Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.' -Genesis 5:24. Shortly after, the flood occurred.
In the New Testament, it is affirmed he was indeed taken up and did not experience death:
'By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he
was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.' -Hebrews 11:5
So we know 'God took him away' as it is stated in Genesis was not a euphemism for death.
So it is a biblical-based belief. Not LDS.
