I'd reallly like to figure this out

A while ago I responded to a thread about the Stephenville, Texas sighting saying that I was rather tired of the military's usual de-bunking with lame responses.
I posited the observation that what would happen if we all came up with a totaly bunk sighting and, with fabricated photos, presented these items to some news outlet(unbeknownst to them), as FACT.
I know that the hard core UFOlogists amongstst us will say "you're gonna set us back x years".
Think of the benefits in an esoteric exercise.
Being on ATS, THEY are already on to it.
BUT, what if?
How in the world could such a thing be done?
Just as a mental exercise, how would you do it?
